PSE hack or Cats removal
PSE hack or Cats removal
Thinking of having a PSE hack in order to make it sound like a Porsche. Today i was given an offer for racing cats 100 cell, 1500$ installed.
However why not to remove stock cats at all?It would be cheaper and give both improved sounds and hp, right?
As far as the emission tests, that will be in 2 years, and probably get the paper mailed to me without even have the test done...

actually i am between PSE hack and cat deletion, not cat conversion...
Cat removal is less expensive than cat conversion and gives more hp. I just wonder with ECU reprogramming...

the only concern with the cat delete is that you might smell a tiny bit of unburnt fuel. as for reprogramming the ECU, i think there are tunes available for as little as $695 now a days. that's definitely going to give you a good power increase between the two.. especially if you do a cat delete xpipe.
as for the reprogramming it seems to exist a solution

Removing the cats will remove the back pressure and remove some low end power. For sound I did the gundo hack cost me $100 at a local muffler shop. Sounds great, like a Porsche should.

I have read about the hack and seen pictures. I believe that the 1.75 pipes are the correct size of the pipes to be placed between pipes. But is there a certain distance from the cans to where the pipes get placed? I really want to do this. Should I just show a picture of the hack to the local muffler shop and let them go at it? Or is there anything that is wrote up on how to do it?
Thanks

I used 2" pipe. I took pictures from a write up here on 6 speed and showed it to them. They had to put a 30 deg bend in the pipe to fit correctly then just jumped the intake end to the exit. its real easy and hard to over engineer.
