Edmunds 911 Turbo BEATS GT-R 0-60, 1/4 Mile
How is this such a big revelation? The turbos always outperformed the gtr in straight line performance, the GTR's advantage comes in the handling where the turbo hasn't been able to keep up (R&T 5sec advantage @ buttonwillow). I love porsche but this time i've gotta give it up to the GTR.
Z07? That you?

Are you following me around the boards, is that it? I think it is about time you stop trolling and move on there sweetheart.
If it truly makes you feel better deep down inside....YES, Nissan used a "ringer" to achieve the 7:29 at the Ring. AFIK, the testing vehicle used unobitanium slicks, 500 pounds of boost, and an electronically controlled pneumatic suspension system. Through the grapevine I've also heard Porsche was guilty of the same thing some years back, although the public was never aware of such a thing at the time, because the Porsche nuthuggers simply weren't capable of fathoming such a thing.
On another note, is a .98g on the dry skidpad really that bad for a STOCK GT-R, on possibly worn down tires? Does this really HELP discredit the "hype", or any magazine data achieved by the GT-R, that everyone keeps suggesting? Also, how much does a skidpad number (at ONLY 1 speed and radius) have to do with the whole element of roadcourse racing or the ring? Not much, if you really know anything about the subject. You guys are too much.

Good Answer. I'll give you close to a 10 on the arrogance meter for that one. "New World Order"...according to who? The GT-R fanboys? Hope they didn't get to you that much lol. I hate the rabid GT-R fanboys just as much as the loyal Porsche crowd hates them, this doesn't mean I HAVE to have something against the GT-R as an automobile.
Sorry, I don't mean to beat a dead horse but I think this is very funny. A new 4000 pound Dodge Challenger SRT beats the GT-R on the Wet SP.<O

Did I mention GT3 or Turbos? Self defensive I see just like the other trolls here only to defend the hype of the car. Looks to have bothered you huh? That would translate to being butt hurt by the way.

And back to the Thread Title...
2007 997TT<O

380 to 390 to the wheels, AWD
2009 GT-R<O

3836 lbs.<O

440 to the wheels, AWD
340 lbs. difference
50 to 60 difference to the wheels.
Sorry, the GT-R is hyped because with the above numbers, the HP to Weight numbers don't lie.
People will find out when they hit the streets and run up on a 997TT or a 996TT (for that matter) and have a hard time keeping up with either. I am sure it is then the 997 or 996 drivers will toss them a magazine to remind them what they should have done.
