Running lean..

So cold here now, took my car to dyno again.

I used 105 octane and sport model. After 5000rpm the AFR going up quite lean...and boost showing 25psi...My car is EVT700 with no cats..How is this possiable?Last time I dynoed it before I got the newest EVT700 tune it was normal and not showing that much boost..Is this definitly not right?

lintc0532,

I know this is out of topic but when you say newest EVT700 what do you mean? Are you using Proto VTGs or EVOMS?

Nothing to do with the topic, just curious?

I got twice evt700 tune.Last year around OCT when I finish the turbos I got the first tune. Then this march when I run cat-less I sent them the ECU for another tune. The second time's tune is much better than first. It showed 35awhp more than before but I ran in this lean problem..

My turbos are proto upgraded but other parts like exhuast/intercooler/tune is EVOMS.So ye,quite a special case lol...

you gained 35awhp by removing the cats your car should be crazy fast, you guys with 700kits should upload some wild videos.
As soon as my car is ready i'll be uploading videos every day

you are going to kill the turbos and motor if you are not careful. I would call Todd at EVO and ask how high they recommend boosting and the leanest safe AFR they tested. You may have some kind of problem with the diverters or have not reset your boost sensors yet in the new turbos.

Can you post the data? How lean is it? You may hook up a Durametric, if you can get hold of one, to try to confirm findings.

The AFR should not go lean after 5000 RPMS. You may have blown the boost reference line that attached to the fuel pressure regulator. Please check this on the right hand side on the engine compartment towards the rear of the car. Also, check all of the vacuum lines for leaks and secire all of them with safety wire or slamm zip ties. Email me the dyno with AFR and boost plot so I can better help you and determine the cause.
