PCCB noise

Hey all, quick question

My RF rotor/brake is giving a moderate 'sqeeeeee" on light pedal pressure/slow speed stops

Seems to only be when it's cold

Car has PCCBs and 7800 miles

It's a bit annoying.

thoughts?

many have noisy brakes - reds as well as pccb's. I have 30K miles on my pccb's and never made a peep.

Mine occasionally do the same thing.. They will get a bit squeaky, then all of a sudden, zero noise for a few days.. repeat, etc...

I will occasionally get a squeal but it's probably better than other disc brake systems I've had.

I've always wondered if automatic car washes with the chemicals getting on the rotors has anything to do with it. When I hand wash both cars with ceramics, no squealing. If i am lazy and do the auto wash, have had temporary noise which eventually goes away. Maybe some of the waxes and clear coat chemicals may play a role

No noise

Me too - no noise, well just a bit sometimes when it's cold but just for a block or so. Now getting a small pebble in there - that's a real ear buster!
Hope the brake noise goes away for those who have it. You would think something could be adjusted or else all PCCBs would have noise issues.
K

Thanks for the feedback, kinda figured that was the deal

I did some hard stops from 30-40 to 5 or so and it stopped for a bit, then they cooled off....."squeeee"

Oh well, it's not horrible, just annoying a bit

I have pccb's on my 05 turbo S. These described symptoms sound similar to mine , as my brakes have been making noise under light braking as well. I had RSS take a look at them: Turns out most of the shims were broken off the pads. This is where the noise was coming from. It had nothing to do with the rotor. Ive had new shims on for a week now and the car comes to a stop in dead silence now. GOOD AS NEW! You might want to look into this. Hope this helps.
