997.2 vs 997.1 Turbo
For anyone interested there is a 2008 BLK/BLK TT Cab at Carmax in NM. And it has Adaptive Sport Seats, PCCB's , 6 Speed and 8K miles! Oh, also has the multi steering wheel.. so very tempting.

Even I am tempted LOL; never had a convertible and wouldn't object to it. Remember you could arrange to have car transferred to your local Carmax dealer for a few hundred bucks. I would also add the CarMax extended warranty, which is pretty good and relatively very cheap.

sorry about this dumb question, but is there any difference cosmetically wise between 07 and 09? from my knowledge I think the only difference between the two are the PCM module correct?
^^^Fair question, and yes you are right, PCM is the most significant difference between 2009 and 2007-2008 Turbo. 2009 PCM has bluetooth and ipod connectivity; for this reason, I consider it to be the most desirable of all Mezger Turbo's. If price is right and everything checks out, the car you listed seems like an excellent buy to me. Who could turn down a low mile Guards Red Turbo like the one below
, and 16k miles is very low for a 2009 car.
For used cars, I consider low mileage to be a critical criteria - hence title of this thread. Low mileage car will look, smell, feel newer; makes you feel better.
Just think, this could be yours, TOMORROW, go for it :-):

PCCB is a horrible idea for a must have. They are only good for the track, as they reduce fade, which i think is in contrast to the initial post. You arent on your brakes enough on the street to have fade. They are a costly replacement which isnt as big of a deal as is the thoughts what 8000 could add to the car.
Sport seats? Eeeh, if you are touring the standard seats are fine. If you track the SAS are decent but they still aren't the best track seats.
Lastly the one Turbo I would walk away from is one with PCCB, I would think about one without Sports Chrono but you can add that later. Also Low mileage is one to stay away from. These cars need the engine to move, if you understand turbos there is oil that will get in them , that brown stuff that drips out, and they need to move with the rest of the car.
An 07 is a perfect car. I actually disagree with about everything you said is needed on the car... Sorry dude.

Well, I pretty much disagree with all of this.
But everyone's different!

So then tell me what PCCB does that makes it a must have? Same with Seats?
This reminds me of a BMW board. OMFG I have Deviant STITCHING.. its a MUST have.
PCCB are not needed, the Tip is actually recommended by a lot of the Porsche and Rag test racers.
I think the "buying guide" is really a "why my car is the best" which is fine
haha thanks for the reply! honestly i really do want a 09 just for the upgraded PCM, but a member PM'd me about selling his 07 turbo, its silver with black interior, has PCCB, sport chrono, adaptive sport seats, rear diff lock, carbon package and more with only 18k miles for 80k... and from the pictures, it looks like abrand new car... haha im strongly considering it but its silver and its 07......
Yup and the PCM is brutal in either model. You are going to replace it anyways There is a few more options but nothing you "need"
what were the different options??
I believe the 09 were the first with PTM that was tweaked. You dont need that either.
Honestly I would have rather gotten a base model and added the stuff I wanted.
Lets see list of stuff that doesnt matter
-PCCB or regular ( its really a preference if you wanna pay 1000+$ for the pride of yellow brakes and the replacement rotors are
) - Seats, had em all and the worst seats I find are the wanna be sport seats, they are never as supportive as sport seats and never as comfy for long drives as the standards
- PTM I just dont know what to say about the need at 9/10ths to be saved from a 360, dont drive at 9/10s on a public road?
- Transmission, seriously it doesnt make you a man and the Tip is faster and more fun to drive on a daily basis. Put it this way I wished I had my tip back when I was driving a buddies 6spd
- Miles dont matter unless they are extreme in either direction
Dont buy a car with tons of mods or either dont pay a premium for it. Look if someone has done all these mods, and Im not talking a tune or an exhaust. I am saying if a guy is changing shocks, springs, etc Ask him for his or her pro racing card. This car for the most part can out drive you. Its not its fault you think your times are lower because of it. Porsche didnt spend millions on R&D when all they needed was to head to NAPA and have some spring ordered up to "fix" it.
Or course if you are truly into track, there is a car for that its called a GT3.
Buy one that is stock, who cares what it has, then add your touches after you find the things you dont like. If you need a new suspension setup then YOU get it, dont pay for someone elses mods or mistakes. again a tune or exhaust is no biggie

Yea I gotta say Squat don't know squat about squat. Sounds more like a guy that wants to get the cheapest he can get which is fine.
First, PCCBs help resale. Any option that is sought after like PCCB makes your car stand out if you do decide to sell.
PCCBs reduce unsprung weight significantly, somewhere to the tune of 21lbs I think which is a huge performance advantage. Plus the rotors will last forever and you get zero brake dust. You aren't paying a $8k premium for a car with PCCBs like you would new. It may add a couple grand to the used car price. In total opposition to squat, I would say the only time you DONT want PCCBs is if you are going to track the car a lot because that is an instance where they WILL wear out and need to be replaced and at $8k they can get expensive.
I gotta agree with aaronchanfilms on this one, I disagree with everything Squat had to say but again to each their own.
