Dectane/Depo lights?
Got it, thanks Jeff!
Sounds like you did get the "new and improved" version.
Have you looked on Ebay? This is what I got and they fixed the problem for me: http://www.ebay.com/itm/200803704276?item=200803704276
I have the original Dectanes from when they 1st came out probably at least 4 yrs ago & didn't use my resistors, but seems i need to hang on to them in case i have any future problems ,i could probably take a pic of them & post it.
Post a pic when you get a chance - thanks.
Update for you guys.
So i contacted dectane, and they pretty much told me to go **** my mother. They literally said i should throw away my tail light. im not kidding. they told me to throw away my tail light.
I replaced the resistor, and im getting the same issues. When i turn the lights on , the right tail light turns off after a few seconds and i get an error on my dash. The brake lights still work, as well as the turn signal and reverse.
Any idea on what i need to do ?

I would head to an Asian electronics repair shop and have them look at it. I bet it could be a simple fix.
Disturbing to hear that type of response from a vendor/manufacturer. Makes me double think shelling out $1K for a product that is already known to have many issues.

Do know who the member bought from? I'm just curious since the "Dectane" lights as many call them are really made by Depo in Taiwan and distributed by FVD, CarlightPro, Dectane, Orange Tuning, eBay vendors, among others. I bought mine from CarlightPro and even though they characterized the lights as Dectane they are clearly marked on the plastic "Depo". Maybe there is another vendor that needs to be contacted??
