not noone. but everybody has to find own way. each one have to invent special device to adopt new ac unit to old car. but pcm3 itself working. this is all about beauty, no more.

The 997.2 controls the ac compressor direct over a relay from the user ac control panel. The 997.1 controls the ac compressor from the MCU over a software command, complete different wiring. So there is no plug and play.
i tooked a look at both wiring diagram, it is doable but you will have maybe to cut wires and add some electronic and and...

Less efford and the only working solution would be, buy a 2009 997.1 turbo ac control unit from ebay or teile.com. There will be one problem left, the heating sensor is also differnt, serge explaint already. But that would be easy to fix.

After all this swaps, you will maybe find out, the PCM 3 is also dated. A dension will work and will do a BT streaming for spotify.
If have both PCM,s for me the look is the only big differnt.

Also don't forget the change the FM antenna amplifer control box. The PCM 3 uses a single wire antenna diversty.

Yea I mean if this was any better documented or easier and given the hassle with the AC I guess I van see people doing it as pcm3 is nicer than 2 but its not. Its a major undertaking and I read all 29 pages in here. If I go with say Pioneer 8100nex and oem looking rear backup camera and sirius integration and black out trim I think you're getting a lot more value and way more functionality and minimal hassle compared to this? I'd give up the nav and song info in the gauge cluster as I never use them anyway, always look at the screen. Is that all that's lost? I don't have a multifunction steering wheel either.

changing the speaker set in the doors will be a much nicer improvment...

If have a PCM 3 in my spyder and a PCM 2.1 in my turbo. I completly understand the PCM 2.1 looks ultra dated like a tube driven unit.

Pls do not blame me

You need a wiring diagram with all the details. I've done this and even with it all to hand it was hard to complete. I was given it by one of the guys from this thread. I'll see if I can find the ones he made up.

I checked the wiring diagrams in piwis and with help of this i wrote out the differences.
