The 997tt is a tip which on the street with no warm up just about anything is going to get rolled.

Blah, although i LOVE the guys blacked out Z06, if you read this because i know you are on 6speed, i would love to meet up
All im going to say driver makes the biggest difference. There is no way a Z06 is making any 997TT look like its broken, with 2 equal drivers and good driving, they are very similar, 997TT being over a second faster at 180mph as well!

From everything I've read the Turbo is slightly quicker to 100, 200 & 300K, and maybe the Z06 is quicker to 250K. The Hockenheim time for the Z06 is slightly faster 1min 11.5s vs. 1min 11.9s and turbo slightly faster at Nurburgring 7min 40.0s vs. 7min 42.9s.
Seems to me the two are pretty even. What's impressive about the Z06 is the cost and preformance, what's impressive about the turbo is the performance and it's a GT car not a track car. The GT2 is the track car.
I picked the turbo because it's my daily drive. Very easy to drive in traffic and rain (live in FL and it really rains here!). Not sure the Z06 would be as easy a daily drive and certainly not in the rain without 4WD.

I mean I cna understand SNOW but rain? I can drive a bike in the rain.
I wouldn't drive a bike around here especially in the rain. Saw a biker killed last friday on US19 in the rain, while they were working on him another accident happened right next to him.
First of all when it rains here sometimes the main roads (US 19 for example) develope 2" of water for long distances because it rains so hard it can't drain fast enough, thus hydroplaneing very common. Under light rain street oil from the heavy traffic surfaces and causes what feels just like driving on ice (not snow), except you don't know where it is...kind of like black ice!! So maybe only a "noob" like you would drive a bike here in the rain.
4WD is very popular here because of the rain soaked roads & terrain. I have a Land Rover, F150 4X4 as well. Saw what was left of a Viper where a guy lost it, got on it a little too hard coming out of a corner while it was raining, back end flung around and into the wall. Bet he wished he had 4WD!! BTW I prefer 4WD in the snow and ice as well.
Good luck on your bike in the rain,
Mike

US 19 is more like a flash flood ripping through an overflow riverbed during rain season. I have seen cars lifted of all 4 and washed sideways!
