2011 C2S vs 2010 C4S

Hello everyone,

I have finally narrowed down my 997 search to two cars. Both are optioned as I like them.

1. 2011 C2S
2. 2010 C4S - 50 miles

#1 is approx $1,000 more than #2.

I'm really torn as I love them both!

Recommendations?

Are they exactly optioned the same? Assuming they are, it really comes down to RWD vs AWD. Did you drive both a C2S and a C4S (can't remember if you did or not)? That should really help you decide. If you already have, and can't tell any significant difference for the style of driving you will do (esp if it's city NYC driving), get the one that looks best to you!

Price wise, if they were optioned EXACTLY the same, you might still be able to wiggle a little lower on the 2010 C4S since it's 1) USED and 2) already has the warranty clock ticking.

The only difference is that the C2S has power seats and iPod while the C4S has Turbo wheels (compared to Carrera S II wheels). SO, all in all, I think the C2S is optioned very slightly better (for me). I'm currently leaning towards the C2S...

If your leaning toward the C2s then go for it. I would also take the 2011 over the 10. That is my opinion.I like the RWD. Good luck you really cant go wrong with eaither one.

Unless driving in weather is a concern, I would chose the one that I would have the most amount of regret over if I bought the other.

In my case, it would the 2010 C4S. I like the wider body stance.

Unless you need 4wd, C2S. With the 997 i find the *** to be pretty wide on both. I was going to buy a C4S and ended up with a C2S and am very happy. Check my avatar.

no matter what model decide if you drive in snow you will need dedicated wheels with snow tires.

but honestly the problem with the cars in snow more has to do with their low profile.

you will not drive your porsche in the snow unless it is your only car...if its not get the C2S.

Opposite here, looking for a C2S, got a C4S instead, no regrets. Get the one with the most options that you want. You can't go wrong with either. Unless you are a race car driver, you can't really tell the difference. For the normal person the C4S feels more planted due to the AWD.

Get the one you like with the best options for you. For the vast majority of drivers, you will not be able to tell the difference between 2wd and awd. Near the limits, maybe, but routine driving - no.

Unless you absolutely need awd, I'd go with the C2S. Sounds like that's the one you really want.

Buy the one you want, but if you go with the C4S, get a better price because it is a model year older (assuming they are both new and not used). I personally prefer the 4 over the 2. Sounds like a great problem to have!!! Post pics once the trigger is pulled one way or the other.

Let me throw another wrench into the equation ... I'd argue go for the 2011 C2S because it's a 2011 model. 2012 will introduce the 991 body style which will of course ding the value of the previous generation 997's.

Aside from a personal preference of RWD, I would say go for the C2S 2011 since it will hold value a bit better.

Just my two cents.
