Alright ! I blew my engine and I need help. Please
Op. Don't get why they are giving you grief. Sorry. There was a guy here who blew a sc'd motor and didn't tell truth because he wanted warranty help. Thats a no no. The boards are to share information. You need professional advice here. As said there is LN and also Jack Raby. Perhaps if they see the pix they can make a knowledgable guess about what happened without wasting money on old motor. I get your point about spending money to open the engine. if you can afford a new/rebuild and back off the tracking I would say do it. If you cannot then you have no choice but to open it and have work done to it as you budget allows. Talk to the pros about costs. They know. But if you are going to track a lot you do need a GT3. Prices on 996s are down and you can badge it 991 if you want
Good luck.
Good luck.

Yes call Jake Raby and see about shipping your engine to him as he is able to repair or replace your engine. There are probably many capable Porsche engine gurus in the country but Jake is the king.
A drop valve from a broken spring could have been at fault but one will never know until the engine is torn apart. Personally I think this is a very rare occurrence and would just install a used motor.
speak to him and send him your video. as your engine did not lock on the track and kept rolling it may be indeed just a valve and in this case you still may have a usable core. with IMS bearing or a broken off rod engine would lock right away and spilled parts on a track. good luck with your repairs.
Based on a buddy's track experience with his Viper:
The money shift might have happened on the previous track day/joyride whenever the car was driven previous to your accident. And it damaged the engine, but not enough to blow/lock it up. And you pushed it, as you should, while racing on the track causing whatever was damaged previously to break.
As for the rebadging: you can do whatever you want. It's a free country.

yeah, you were right... it's not a money shift. Good luck with your engine quest. I would put an ebay engine and put it for sale.
here is one for $9000 and 24K miles:

Would this still consider not lock ?
Thanks

and for the Badging. I'm ordering Carrera GT Turbo S badges now. And I'll snap it on after my car back to the road.
If you get the motor your mechanic found you could do a custom Carrera GT Turbo S X51 RS badge.
And you'll need a personalized license plate "Flame Thrower". We'll have to figure out how to get that down to 7 letters.
