Hi guys, I've been looking this up for hours I hope y'all can help me out. I got a set of 20" Loma Supertec Wheels coming from a member here for my new 2009 Porsche Carrera 997.2 Cabriolet. He offered a good deal on 'em and I sort of took the plunge and went for it.

With that in mind there are a lot of things that I'm trying to figure out before these wheels get to me. The seller was kind enough to send me his 90 degree valve stems because the factory ones stick out too much. He also advised me on getting after market TPMS. I have no idea where to look for the TPMS, I found the neo brand online but not sure this will fit are smaller than the OEM. Really lost here.

Also, once having 20" wheels on my car it seems I will have to lower it a bit with springs or 997s look like off-road vehicles with the OEM setup in 20s. Again, I might be completely off but this is just my impression after reading for hours around forums.

Finally, I'm finding tons and tons of pictures of 20s on 997 Turbos but not a lot on the 997 Carrera. Every single picture I see of a turbo with 20s looks incredible. It doesn't matter the wheel type. The look of my dream car in every sense of the word. I'm hoping 20 on the 997 will yield a similar result (crossing fingers man). This is where I'm considering lowering it as well. If you guys wanna share, that would be great.

Any guidance on what to do about the TPMS would be highly, highly appreciated. Try to fit the stock to the new wheels or get the aftermarket option? Any low cost option that works? I don't mind saving $$ on this one as I was not anticipating this extra cost.

Below is the before...

Search for TPMS, there should be loads of threads talking about OEM and aftermarket. Never had 20's on any Porsche but I would think with the larger wheel and lower tire profile the car may look better lowered.

Great looking car, good luck!

I have 20s on my 997.1 C2S. I'm currently using the OEM TPMS sensors. The stick out more than I'd like, but not a big deal to me. I don't think you can go wrong with any choice you make.

As far as lowering with 20" wheels, the car looks way better lowered than stock ride height with the aftermarket wheels. Car looked like a Cayenne to me at OEM ride height. It really changes the look of the car when the change in stance.

Thanks for the responses guys. I kept on searching and most people transfer their OEM sensors so I guess thats the general consensus. But the seller is sending me 90 degree valve stems and that's where I think I will need aftermarket... Anyways, worst comes to worst I'll have another tire place fix it later with aftermarket and deal with the alert/message for a couple of weeks.

DEfinitely!, Cayenne is what I'm trying to avoid! Below is what I'm trying to accomplish. Both Carreras pictured have 20s on 'em and the black is a 997.2

Called acg automotive connoisseur group in San Diego and they confirmed being able to transfer the stock ones. Also mentioned the TPMS last much longer than six year in most cases... so, I will stick with the stock ones.

Then I called a Discount Tire Store in San Diego and they mentioned Hankook Ventus V12 and Toyo TR1 (Summer tires, I'm trying to get either or) have a rating of 97Y, I need a rating of 100+ minimum... what?? I'm researching this now... one thing after the other.

But the more sample pictures I find, the more I realize its gonna be worth it!!
