Documenting my C6 ZO6 build
Here's a short video of my exhaust. For those that have never heard of the "Mild to Wild" switch for these cars, I have a remote control that allows me to manipulate the exhaust flaps via the homelink buttons on my visor.
When the flaps are open, the car sounds KILLER, but it's also extremely loud (it also overwhelms the microphone on my Sony Handycam).
When they're closed, the car is much quieter and this is normally how I run when cruising down the freeway. It completely removes the drone.

Oh definitely. With the flaps closed it's extremely quiet inside the car. Significantly more quiet than even my my 996TT was.
Hey bro, ya...I get a LOT of compliments on the sound. It's amazing (and surprising to me) how many positive comments I routinely receive on this car.
It's very aggressive and torquey. I'm really liking the Z a LOT the more I drive it, but I really think it needs a new tranny, as the stock T56 is notchy as hell with a SSK. My new T56 and rear diff should be installed in a week or two so I'll be able to give you a more accurate comparison afterwards.
I will say that the P-cars are definitely better built cars from the factory. You don't have to replace as many components on the Porsches as you do the Z06s when modding them to make them equal...HOWEVER the Porsche upgrades you do need to get always cost a lot more. Due to that, the Z still ends up being the less expensive car to mod.

Already posted this in the 60-130 thread:
Got my 3.90 rear end installed today (as well as the new tranny), and it really woke the car up. With the stock gears, my 60-130 times averaged 6.2-6.4 seconds, with my best time being 5.86.
On my way home today, with the new gears installed, I got one quick run in before I got caught in traffic. Ran a 5.74 first try on a slight incline. This car has a lot left in her. I'm guessing low 5's are definitely a possibility, but we'll see. Anyway, she's damn fast for only having 700'ish rwhp.
Also, a buddy with a beautiful GT500 running a Kenne Bell 'Mammoth' supercharger and cams did a few runs as well. The car made 750'ish rwhp today on an accurate dyno (with some ice), and ran a best time of 7.75 on a slight incline with 1-shift....no wheelspin. I think it's weight really penalizes it.
By the way, I love the new tranny. The revised 5th and 6th gears are perfect!
