Motor Trend Z06 Viper Gt Review
MT just reviewed the three cars and it's pretty clear the Z06 is a full flegded supercar. It easily beat the viper in almost every category and even bested the GT in most. If I were buying a car today I wouldn't even think about a turbo. I can't stand GM but they have an incredible winner here.

Why not just give the Z06 the respect it deserves. It's no Porsche, but it sure beats the crap out of 99% of the cars out there for a mere fraction of the price!!!

that is amazing if true...props to GM for the new Z. Need to pick up that article. Hopefully it's not a ringer...

I am very impressed with the new Z06's performance numbers. I would gather that the 997TT will still be behing the C6 Z06 in performance numbers as well. Many cars will be. However...
They do not stand out to me. I was driving next to a yellow one last week on the interstate and was not impressed. Sure, it has great numbers, but it didn't strike me as anything special; especially not after seeing so many C6s running around. The rear looked to high for a Vette or something. I can't put my finger on it...

The Z06, however, has earned the right to be called a supercar. The performance speaks for itself. It is not just a drag racer...it can go toe to toe with any supercar out there on any track.

Someone refresh my memory and tell me when Porsche has ever had a 911 of any kind that was faster in acceleration than the Vette.
If I remember correctly, except for the Carter years, the Vette has always had more power and better acceleration than any 911. And yes, GM has finally figured out how to make a car take corners (think it's about time?). But for some people, it's more than just the actual numbers in terms of acceleration and cornering...it's *how* a car delivers the goods while doing these things. Cleve's post (his impressions of the C6Z) is illusitrative of this.
