Larini Cats on a Vantage

I took the Larini Cats off my AMV8 because they threw codes P0430 and P0420(Cat efficiency below threshold) ever few hundred miles. I was told this may be due to the unexpected high volume of exhaust flow generated by the supercharger.
I can verify that they are worth 20RWHP and 10RWTQ on my car.
See my classified if anyone is interested. Posted around Feb 26th.

I removed the Larini cats and sold them but the car sounded too stock. Recently I've bought RSC cats. The 'growl' is back and I'm happy to report NO CODES. In my opinion, Larini's are poorly made and not worth buying unless you get them for a steal. I'd recommend RSC cats. You get a special discount for being a 6speed member. Getting the cats gets you a more aggressive, yet not annoying sound and you retain the increased bark at 4K RPM. It is the most restrictive (600 cell) part of the exhaust system and seems to me to be a great upgrade. Thanks RSC.

No problem!!! Our philosophy on cats is to use the best catalysts possible - these are the same units we use on the DB9 & DBS and they are used on cars with over 1000BHP. Slightly overkill but that's the way we do things.

Glad to hear you're enjoying them and should have given you your 20RWHP back!

When I took my AM Vantage into the dealer for the annual service they really admired my RSC exhaust, thought it was super high quality and loved the sound over the stock unit.

I've had RSC exhaust and cats on my Vantage for about 18 months ... no issues or worries. Sound is something else .... esp. coming down the pit straight at Sebring !!!

There are a couple of people in SoCal who are interested and may be buying the car. Don't worry though, we'll be getting another one pretty soon and we have some cool stuff in mind for this one. Watch this space...

Just installed the RSC exhaust.

Had the exhaust installed on Thursday. It sounds great. Not too loud. I think the biggest difference is the sound down low.

The shop that did the install could not believe it was a true bolt on. The had to do zero modifications to make it fit. One of the first for them, and they have been in business for over 30 years, and do many high end cars.
