Used Aston Martin Vantage (2006 or 2007) or NEW 2014 Corvette?
I am in the market for a Vantage. Such a beautiful car. My budget is only around 55k but i do have many options.
The new Vette is coming out and its look pretty darn nice. Aston is still in another class.
What do you guys think?
Stick with the bueaiful V8 Vantage or go for a new Vette?

Everyone will have the new Corvette and they'll be a dime-a-dozen within two years. AMs are very rare and will always stand out from the crowd as something special.
But do your research so you know what you're getting into (it's really not bad at all, just stuff to be aware of). You're also going to be getting a lot of bias on here since you're asking a bunch of people that chose an AM.

That said, the Corvette is the best bang-for-your-buck sports car around and has been for years. Vantages are quite the opposite. They aren't the fastest, most powerful, most efficient, etc etc etc, but they're wonderful to drive and are gorgeous.
So despite their similarities - front-mid V8, RWD, 2-seater - you're looking at two very different types of cars and it really boils down to your preferences. If anything, drive them both and see which one you keep going back to.

If you're concerned about a budget I would probably go with the Corvette if I were you. Maintenance on an Aston Martin is not cheap, especially the older they get . If you wind up needing a clutch or some other repairs you might be looking at a very huge bill beyond your original $55,000 budget. The Vette will be new and come with a warranty. It's also a very nice and good looking car.

The new Vette is pretty amazing. I have an 09 Vantage and am considering it (I think I actually would like to have both, but that won't happen, probably).
The others are also correct in that the maintenance will be cheaper on the Vette, especially given that the Vette will have a new car warranty.
One detail: at 55K, that's the absolute base Vette. Very few people actually buy the base car. I spec'd it out how I would want it and it came out to 75K including 7% NJ sales tax. Still incredible for the price.

I like the Vette also, but telum is right that they'll be everywhere. I don't think I'd like seeing others every time I drive the car. In the last two years I've only seen one other V12V.

The new Corvette has the latest technology and great performance. The AM is a hand built classic but really low-tech compared to the market. One factor is dealer support. How good is your local Chevy dealer compared the dealer support from AM. Be sure to consider this. As a past Corvette owner, the dealer support and poorly trained mechanics was a deciding factor for me.
