2015 V8 Vantage GT
OK I am going to get flack for this but they need to have a traditional automatic or some sort of PDK/DCT transmission that is not the sportshift. The manual car is great the sportshift I/II/III are just horrible IMO. The DB9 in a traditional automatic is actually a really good fit for the car, but a outsourced PDK style box would move a ton more units. Maybe with the new motors it will come around.
I would imagine that most new Aston buyers are not manual transmission sort of guys, though I may be wrong.
This has to be a way to move units that they all ready have partial construction done on.

The market doesn't change in the blink of an eye. Give it a few weeks and the prices will start adjusting.
Is there any validity to this statement or is it just your opinion?
Dealer said it was coming when I was there several days ago.
Besides, if Aston doesn't get their hands on a Mercedes dual-clutch, they've shot themselves in the foot and I don't think they'll survive.

Of course, if Aston can't sell new Vantage's in the US after September, then the prices will go up.
In near future if I was in a market for a Pre-Owned Vantage I would be more in line to purchase a True V8S vs the new Vantage GT. There will be more GT examples for sale as pre-owned units. As result, there will be a fewer V8 and certainly even less V8S models. As such, the V8 & V8S owners will benefit from that.
Not a good move by AM. These 2014 and 2013 models sitting on the lots going for $150k are going to have to be heavily discounted to compete with these GT versions.
More and more people are going to start buying these cars and it won't be as unique when you start seeing them everywhere.

That's the point, they already are/have been heavily discounted. I just specced a 2015 GT today, exactly the same as a V8VS (for a client) and the price came out the same. The more I crunch the numbers, the more I'm convinced that the actual selling prices are not going to be much different.

I hope you guys are right. I have a feeling we will start seeing more vantages on the road now = not as limited. They will probably produce more than 3000 GTs/year. But I can't confirm, hoping someone can verify.
Here the Aston exec even corrects the statement made by the Bloomberg host. "Technically partnership, not necessarily a supply deal". I interrupt this as MB engineers working with Aston engineers and Aston being able to access MB R&D...

For my ideal spec the car came out to $106k, that's way cheaper than anything else I have seen. Ya if you get every single option it can rack up, but hoe stay most options are unnecessary if you factor in the excessive cost. For someone wanting the best value, getting just a few essential options is the way to go
If anyone is interested in a V8VGT, please email me and I would be happy to work up a price for you based on your specs. Have done a couple for customers already.
FWIW, I think you'll be surprised what we can get you for a trade-in. We just offered $59K on a 2007 Manual Coupe with 6,000 miles, which is pretty darn close to retail. If you want to get into one of the new cars let me know and we will make it work for you
