Last 2-3 my 2009 Db9 is having some issues, while driving it will light up : engine service required, emmisson service required, looses power, changes engine sound, looses power”
I turn off the car and start again almost everything goes away and car drives fine for few miles but then same symptoms.
I pulled the codes with OBD reader it shows
1) P2106: throttle actuator control system-forced limited power
2) P0483-FF : fan performance
3) P1488-FF: exhaust (muffler) Bypass control circuit malfunction ( I think its due to the fuse I had pulled for making car sound louder)
4) P1712-FF: Torque reduction signal circuit malfunction
5) P2800-FF : Trnasmission range Sensor B circuite )PRND321 SELECTOR LEVER POSITION input

Sounds like the car is going into limp mode. Off the top of my head I would inspect the throttle body, pedal assembly, and gear selector buttons. Check the resistance on assemblies and wiring. Those 3 are all tied together and will do some weird things if there is an issue with one. The fact that you're getting a fan code could also be a failing coolant temp sensor, but that wouldn't flag anything with the TCM. Make sure your trans fluid level is proper as well, DB9 are known for sweating trans lines, if they have been sweating for a while you could be low on ATF. Hope this helps.
I also noticed that negative seminal cable had crack in the metal (one which goes around the battery terminal post), i replaced that.
I am now only getting two error codes P2106 which i think it just means car was in limp mode.
BUT P1712 -FF is persistent. Coolant fan, transmission range selector errro codes are gone.
I did check all the fuses in passenger foot well they were fine.
i recently had transmission software updated for recall (AM has recall on DB9 where it may fail to go in park or something like that)
I recently has Transmission control module software update as per the recall see attached.
Also i found a document for P1712 form DB9 and it seems like they are saying that TCP and PCM software needs to be matched.
May be after the update on TCM, it created some kind of mismatch between TCM and PCM?
It looks like problem was in N button
If i use both paddle and pull them back, car will go in N, but not by pressing N button.
I decided to open both N and D button and swap there internal electronic part as plug and socket for each of these button is shaped differently.
After the swap D button (which now has internal electronics) from N button started malfunctioning andN button started working normally.
I uses CRC electronic cleaner to clean both of the PCB and pins which goes inn the plug, also uses rubber eraser to help clean metal connector pins.
I drove about 50 miles and no error came back. Hope this is it. I have ordered new D button form eBay.
Ok , error code still comes back like after driving 50 miles or so
display says "Engine service required Urgent", "check fuel system" "emission service required"
OBD reader pulls P1712, inn addition to P2106 (limp mode code)
If i disconnect and reconnect the battery code goes away, car drives fine for about 50 miles and goes in limp mode again.
My closet dealer is about 90 miles, they don't even give loaner cars, "trying to give loaners to only those who bought cars form the dealer"
I typically don't need loaner but my Gallardo is also in body shop, as I got rear ended (2nd accident in 14 months, with NO fault of mine AT ALL)
Any input will be appreciated.
I still wonder, if the problem is due to recent TCM software update as part of recall and now Software in ECM and TCM is different level.
