Heel and toe….

Is there a way to adjust the throttle pedal so I can heel and toe? For me the pedal is to low and far from the brake pedal.

There are a few things you can do.

- you can buy a throttle pedal with additional width at the bottom. Can't do a pedal that is wider all the way up because of the way it attaches to the lever, but the extra width at the bottom really helps
- you can get a wider brake pedal from a sportshift car and fit that, which brings the brake pedal nearer to the throttle.

I made a wider throttle pedal out of a footrest, which matches everything nicely, and fitted the wider brake pedal, my foot now comfortable spans both brake and throttle now.

IMO, the entire project would be of little use due to the poor throttle response.

Just ordered a new pedal from Ultimate Pedal. $94 is not a bad price. Should have it in a couple of days.

I have to say I agree, you really need to bang the throttle way more than you think you should in the Vantage.
I have the VAP tune and it helped quite a bit but still more difficult than other manual cars I drive.

I'm late to this. I gave up trying to do heel toe. Beside the position of the peddles being wrong, the throttle response is just awful. I don't really track my car, but if I did, no heel toe would drive me nuts.

Does anyone think the strain placed on the engine (due to engine braking, etc) worse then the wear placed on the brakes?

These engines need to be exercised and pushed to revs to stay healthy, not pampered when driven (if at all). Aston engines aren't fragile like Ferraris.

i will sacrifice brake pad/rotor wear and tear over any other parts of the car. easy to replace and relatively cheap if you don't insist on havng the aston label on the box.

It's really for keeping weight distribution under control

I put the wider pedal on my car right after I got it. I don't think the throttle response is that bad. The problem with the pedal is that sometimes you have to jump hard on the brakes getting cutoff or whatever, and it's wide enough to catch with the brake pedal and you end up at 6000 rpm slamming on the brakes with the clutch in.

The SS brake pedal is an interesting idea I never thought of, I'd love to see a picture if anybody ever did it. Not that I heel toe alot anymore, in fact I'm pretty sure I never do. It was a phase now satisfied.
