Extended Warranty
Extended Warranty
I understand that Aston Martin has its timeless warranty, however, does anyone have experience with any third-party providers?
Thanks,
Thanks,

I personally don't care for add on 3rd party warranties. Any extra warranty I have every had was useless. I came to the conclusion to sock the money away for if and when. Most warranties are very difficult to get things covered, dealers don't like dealing with them for the most part. They tend to be sold or go out of business also. To bad Costco wasn't in on it, then I'd bite.
How is an extended warranty company supposed to make money off of you if they are saving you money on repairs?
Operating costs for an Aston Martin are expensive. Nature of the beast. I doubt there’s a third party warranty company stupid enough to cover one of these cars, but maybe worth a try?

I have a 2011 V8 Vantage my first Vantage since 2007 that is NOT under warranty. It's a toss up - you have a $1600+ inspection to keep your warranty and then thereafter you have another $4500 to extend it a year. I've had V12S's and V8's. One V12S (I've written about this in the past) was a deceptive sale that Aston Martin Corporate replaced my car which had zero issues. The car it replaced had at least $60K in repairs (new engine, multiple computers, tons of other issues) mostly on the next owner (Aston and the dealer made a 'settlement' in both cash and significant extension of the warranty). Another was a 2015 V8 GT which had over $20K in warranty work in the two years I had it. Most had the tail lights replaced under warranty. I had a 2007 V8 (New), a 2009 V8 (used), a 2015 GT (new), the two 2015 V12S's mentioned, a new 2017 V12S (zero issues), and now my first non-warrantied 2011 V8 Vantage since my 3 Lagonda's I've owned.
My choice if I could have had a warranty on the 2011 I'd probably invest in it, although out of warranty does have some advantages like my recent CAT delete.

My experience: Bought my '09 V8V new. The only thing that had to be fixed during the original 3-year warranty was the radio -- AM-band died, so they replaced the radio. 2 years' extended warranty would've been approx. $6k, and it seemed unlikely that I'd have that much go wrong so I didn't extend it. My total cost in repairs over the 2 years the warranty would've covered: $0.00. My total cost in repairs in the almost 10 years since is probably less then $300. It's a great car.
I have the Aston Timeless warranty on my MY19 car. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The first time I tried to use it it was a complete hassle. ( ignition coils at 7000 miles damaged from a design flaw). The Aston warranty is just Strolls "Ultra Luxury" toilet paper. Absurd for over $4000 per year. Caveat Emptor.

I've heard more than a few complaints lately - maybe tied to Astons current finances. I've had extended warranties for all my past Astons with no issues, but Aston was a very different company in the past. Their survival must rely on the satisfaction of all of the current owners and I hope they get their act together sooner than later.
Ignition coils, depending on what state you live in should be an emissions warranty and covered by the manufacturer. 7k miles I would definitely be emailing AM and demanding a fix or refund on their extended service program.
Entire experience with Aston was very unpleasant. Merc/ AMG has redesigned the coils and the new engines in the DBX have the newer design. Obviously there was an issue involving the design but the fact my car had 7000 miles on it and was 6 months out of the basic warranty AND had the (~$4000) extended service contract wasn’t much of a concern for Aston.
The issue was eventually resolved and I paid nothing. The dealer made the problem go away. Getting in touch with Aston corporate people in the US is a complete joke. Most of the phone numbers are just a third party answering service called Morley. They just relay messages. Even on the Aston website, the warranty “administrator” phone number is six digits, so not even a legit number. I tracked down the actual phone number from some corporate filing but still never got a return call.
I hashed most of this out on Pistonheads so I don’t want to repeat it all here. Suffice it to say, Aston is not getting another penny for warranty money from me.
