Seats Are Stuck

My 2007 V8V coupe is up on jack stands for the Winter. During this hiatus I installed sound deadening materials. To gain improved access I ran both seats and seat backs as far forward as they would go. At the limit there was a pair of mechanical clicks, that seemingly locked them in this awkward position, unmoveable and undriveable.

Help, does anyone know the solution to this problem?

Bob Duato is infamous around these parts
I haven’t experienced this, but considering your car has been sitting awhile, you may want to check out this this thread on resetting seat memory after a dead battery

i've run the seats fully forward in my 2007 vantage without any issue s number of times/ nothing but a false airbag warning message.

in fact i've had the driver's seat completely out of the car on two occasions and i don't recall anything on the underside that looks like a physical lock. it should be noted i do NOT have seat memory, assuming it was an option.

If the seat cushion and the back is fully forward you might want to try to move the seat cushion all the way up and I believe it will reset the seat and after you should be able to move it back. It is worth a try

There is a seat reset procedure outlined in the owner's manual.

I pulled both fuses and they looked fine. Put them back in and now the seats are working!

i've found that the software/hardware controlling seats and messages associated with them is flakey when they've been moved to their limits. forward, back, up, down, the entire seat or even just the back. the weight sensor monitoring weight in the seat is flakey too.

That's also a way to reset some of those modules... I do the same for my door modules when the windows are acting up.... Glad you got it sorted
