Replied back. Yeah, the new format takes a little getting used to - agreed.

I still allow 6speed to be one of the only sites where pop-ups are actually allowed by my browser - so when a PM shows up, I get a pop up (and, separately, an email notification from the site).

Just depends how often you get PMs, for whether or not that would be a nuisance or not.

the jet pumps are on the end of each plastic hose. in each one of the legs of the tank. i don't think they are actual pumps, more like pickups for the main pump.

moment of truth is coming

So, is AMS saying that the stock pump works better without those pickups running? Is that even possible? Or maybe I don't understand (more likely ).

moment of truth is coming
Sounds good, man - looking forward to hearing how it all turns out.

yeah they tested the pump alone and also as it sits in the baskets with the jet pumps, the latter produced inferior results. given the 2-leg shape of the tank that's how it is ...

I think these in tank pickups / pumps are critical for fuel supply in high G situations. Are these discarded when the surge tank is used? If so, what feeds the surge tank from the main tank? TIA

Everything in the tank remains untouched. Remember that the in tank pump has no head psi so it pumps more fuel to the surge tank then is needed. also the return line from the fuel rail also dumps into the surge tank.

So the surge tank is purely for an additional buffer in high G situations? Or is it needed to ensure enough fuel delivery to the two 044's? In other words, could this system be used minus the surge tank? Thanks again.

The return from the FPR also goes into the surge tank helping to keep it full and stock pump with jets in place pumps enough fuel to keep it full.

Thanks !

BTW this fuel system as a whole has already supported over 800 ft/lbs of torque at the wheel on E85 with under 50% injector duty cycle in torque peak

I wonder if the jet pump/inlets can be upgraded. I can't help but wish the 650/700hp cars could get that extra bit of fuel. The same for the big HP set-ups, more yield. I have never seen one in person but I would think it could be enhanced or "upgraded"

Any input here guys?

Looking good. How's the idle with the 2150 cc injectors?

I have looked at this a lot and I ran a single large pump. This setup is really performing very well. The fuel psi is rock solid. It really looks to be a winner for the next level with out modding things past the point of no return. As in my case

cant tell the difference between 72#s on gas and these on E85

cold starts are smooth, Tony is still working on leaning out the idle though since the 996 ECU is a bit more difficult then 997 ECU.

Nice. My impression is that even on a 997 it's not easy to dial in the perfect idle with that size injector but not 100% sure.
