This was my mechanics response to the brake not releasing. He’s the one with the vcds scanner and sounds like he knows EXACTLY what’s to do and like he’s done it before.
I’m wondering if your pump went out. Find a fuse diagram and relay back to the forum which fuses are blown. I won’t have my car back till tomorrow hopefully so maybe someone can tell you What those fuses go to in detail.
@TeamJones1962
Earlier in a post you said you wouldn’t have your car back until tomorrow can you just send me a pic of your fuses panels just so I can compare it to mine? I’m not going to touch anything in my fuse area I just want to compare it and see ..

That sounds like a good plan. Unfortunately the voltage surge could have,as the mechanic noted, toasted the module. Although sometimes the switch in the vehicle goes bad on its own. Looks like the car and you are on the road to recovery.
@1eapplebaum I’m smiling so hard now Because “we are on the road to recovery”!!!🤣🤣🤣😉
So now today I ordered a tire from mavis the exact same one that is on there and it comes in tomorrow 229, mounted and balanced 280. I will not be bringing the car in obviously so I have to bring the whole flat tire with the rim. I just found out today balanced does not refer the the whole car. It refers to the tire itself or something like that. So is this correct that when I bring my flat tire to mavis they put the new one on the rim and balance and mount it? Does mount mean put it on the car? Now I’m confusing myself.
I started the car this morning starts right up and the light with the car symbol with scribbles behind the tire I’m guessing the traction warning went off when I filled the tire all the way with air. That symbol went off and the low tire and (!) symbol. So the only lights left on are •windshield washer
•low key battery
•brake pad (need brake pads)
•P with slash and Park Light
•Brake Light
•Airbag Light
Whats the story with the airbag light. I dnt even wanna Know probably!
Now when the mechanic does whatever he does as he was describing will the brake release am I going to be safe? Is there anyway I can do without that function for the car. And once he releases it will the car be good to go?
And should I call the dealer for brake pads or where should I order them from?
Also if the switch itself went bad once the mechanic does what he does will I have to replace it? I read on another forum one guy said he does not live park or has ever been in a hilly area so the park brake is useless or something towards that effect. I’m wondering does this have to be replaced? Or can I do with out once the mechanic releases it?
Please remember about the diameter of the tires. Your old tires look pretty worn. The new tire that you are installing even though it is the same brand and dimension on the sidewall, it's not a good idea to do that. All four tires have to be the same rolling diameter. Your car is all-wheel drive. There will be excessive internal pressure on the transfer case and transmission, potentially an expensive repair. This can also affect the ABS braking system to not function as designed. This has been discussed on the form by people more knowledgeable than me. You'll always be out of sequence when you get new tires. One tire will be more worn than the other three. Treat yourself to a wonderful new set of tires.😉
Mounted means installed on the rim. Whoever does the mounting please instruct them not to use rim sealant. Rim sealant if it gets on your tire pressure monitoring module in the rim will ruin it.

The first step is to assess what failed. There are other components other than the switch that possibly failed. The vcds scan would indicate trouble codes that would help assess this. Without properly fixing the system there would be the P sign with a slash through it.

Ok when you say properly fixing the system you mean get a new module or new switch. I thought this was a option thing where there was something you can disconnect and not ever use the park brake again.

At this point it is not clear what is needed. We need to see a vcds scan and the trouble codes. I don't like disabling anything on any of my vehicles. That said I'm not knowledgeable on how to circumvent a safety feature. Most of the people on this form are about getting these cars as close to perfect as possible. We invite you to join our sentiment.🙄
Thanks for the welcome! I only said this because of the other information on this forum I read about this same problem. My understanding was being that he emphasized not coming in contact with any hills ever and he’s never used the feature he was suggesting disabling it through the vcds scanner. So thanks for clearing that up letting me know that’s not an option/safe option. I’m learning... bare with me please. I appreciate your patience and time your even taking to help me. On another thread here I read a guys park brake failed while on a hill! Ok so I will contact the mechanic next and see when he is coming out!

I just want to throw in here that when I press the p and hold it down I hear like a buzzing motor on the back left. . And when I release it the noise goes away. I also hear it when I pull the P button up. Does that have anything to do with the motor. Prob everything to do with the motor.
Try lifting the button up. That is release. Pushing is to applly.
You are correct pulling up applies it pushing down releases.
You're hearing the servo which is the activating motor on the emergency brake. Something is malfunctioning and that is why it isn't releasing. Until the mechanic looks at it not much more to do.
Just a warning stay away from Bentley Long Island. Their service department in my experience was the worst experience ever for any brand they made mistakes with repairs and lots of excuses from the tech and manager. Bentley corporate was required. At Miller Motorcars John was fine. Haven't tried Manhattan service.
Wait I thought it was safe to change the tire now as long as it’s in jack mode. Should I deflate the new tire a little and put it on that way or am I back to not changing the tire at all? Only if I’m doing all 4?
