Worth the Purchase? What needs to be changed

Worth the buy?
Hey guys so my friends, buddy is selling his 2008 Cayenne S with 245000 KM..

For $7000 No accidents

But i'm pretty sure there's going to be some maintenance costs or something that I'm going to need to pay for. What are somethings I should be aware of at such high KM that would need to be changed

Not so worried about the $7000 but how reliable are these things and at 245000 KM... Should I even bother?

Thanks

wow 7k is super cheap.

I just paid 25k for mine with 100km.

I have the same 2008 Cayenne S no accidents. I'm from Vancouver as well.

For 7000, just pay the extra couple hundred and get a pre purchase inspection at Porsche or a indy and they will be able to answer all of your questions and more.

Goodluck!

Hmm is it even worth it is my question at 245000KM lol

You have 100000KM which is fairly low. If i don't buy it i think my friend might.

What known problems are there that I should be worry about?

Thanks

For all american friends -

the car being inquired is 2008 Cayenne S with 150k miles for 5400 USD.

Based on what I've read on here, that sounds like a wicked deal.

Granted everything else checks out.

Bring the car to James Daniels at Scan Automotive in North Vancouver.

I am going there now to pick up my car. He will tell you right away if the car is worth it or not.

Tell him John with the Cayenne S sent you! Report back here

If its mechanically sound there should be no reason not to buy if its what you are looking for. If you can work on it yourself that's an even bigger plus. I agree with the PPI.

Thanks for all your input.

Got a little more information. It's actually an EX US car I believe it was bought from Atlanta and Imported here. Jim Ellis Porsche I believe. That might explain why it has higher clicks..

All I can do is like oil changes and perhaps brakes and what not.

Thanks Zoonie I'll have a look at the articles

That is one heck of a deal! I have seen a few Cayenne S's with 200k+ on them. There was a Cayenne S at our last 928 get together that had 230k on it. I spoke to the owner in depth about his car to ask if the engine has ever been replaced and to see how reliable it has been. He said the engine was original and the car has been pretty good other than normal wear items. I was really surprised because the car didn't look like it had anywhere near the miles the dash said it had. If these cars are taken care of they appear to last. You could probably buy the car and sell it for more at that price as long as its in decent shape.

Thanks. I haven't seen the car in person yet. but have seen a few pictures of the exterior and it seems pretty good.

I'm a little hesitant for some reason as I don't want to have to drop 10k 6 months down the road. Actually if the fix was really expensive I'd probably just take the 7k as a loss....

Will do.

I'm also hesitant because I had an 09 x6 5.0L and had a check engine light come on and the dealer told me it would cost $6k to do walnut blasting......

I had CPO warranty but they said it didn't cover it but they did it under goodwill

If the engine has been serviced correctly , it is pretty much indestructible.
I have 282000 km on my 04 S , I have had to change O2 sensors , ignitors, and water pump after 200 000km . Will be doing valve body on transmission next. All normal wear items. So if service history is good, I would say it's a good buy.
