Analog clock with digital display, that's strange, that means it works independently and not getting the signal from the PCM. Does anyone know if Panamera is getting a clock too, for those who do not have the sport chrono package?

 

this is VERY interesting,

my build was 8/22 and then pushed to 9/26 and then back to 9/22 which was when the vehicle was finally built.. (9/22 completion would mean 9/19 start date)

i REALLY like the idea of this clock in the dash and hope it is included in my build.. the lock and unlock buttons would be nice but this clock is the cats meow.


has anyone else given a firm confirmation on the addition? i guess its like the 2011 builds that got free side airbags.

The online configurator still has the compass as a $420 option on the Cayenne S.

 

Surely the compass will still be offered as an option. The clock is a basic feature for those who do not want to get the compass.

I am 3-4 weeks away from delivery of my 2012 - it is on a ship somewhere near the Panama Canal right now. It was build complete on Sept 28th so it should be included if the clock-in-dash story is true. I asked my dealer about a week ago and he didn't know. He's been on vacation since then but returns this week. If I hear of anything definitive I will post it here. Otherwise, I will send pictures of my new dash with or without a clock sometime in early November.

Today I got the compass and the central dash cover,but apparently there is no harness pre installed in the truck.
I will look more and check if I can buy the wire harness to connect the compass somewhere ...

 

Did you select compass option when you ordered the car?

No I ordered the compass and the central cover only so I dont know if the truck has the harness or i have to order or if It comes only when you order the car with compass .

 

I thought you didn't order compass and it comes with analogue clock on dashboard.

 

When I was looking into this, the SA nor the tech were sure if there was a plug in the back of the PCM (must have nav) for the compass to plug into, and I never heard back from them on it. They did mention it wold need to be programmed in though.

luiscarlos, how long it the wire, if any, coming off the back of the compass? Long enough to reach the PCM?

 

2011 and early 2012's didnt get anything in the dash unless a compass was ordered. Mid-October, vehicles began coming off the line with a clock in the dash at no charge according to others.

 

Luiscarlos, did you just order the compass and the dash cover as parts?

 

I too, would be interested if this is doable.
