So at this stage I'm trying to find a cayenne that has the compass option installed from the factory and an owner who is prepared to lift the dash cover and trace the harness. I could then find out where it connects up. Porsche only show a full dash harness in the parts list which retails for USD 5k, It will be the world's most expensive compass if I have to go down that road...
Even if you can install and connect the compass, you might still need to update the PCM software for it to work.

Straight from my dealer

All cars produced from 09/19/2011 will feature a standard Sport Chrono clock on the dashboard according to Porsche's recent bulletin. This clock will display the time in both digital and analog form (hours and minutes with the small analog clock near the 6 o'clock mark and seconds with the red sweeping hand on the large dial). This clock will display the time synchronized with the cars settings as soon as the door is

If the production date is 9/19, there must be a few floating around by now with those clocks.

I wonder if I can take out my compass and insert the clock?

I really would like to add the clock as well. I wonder if Suncoast will be able to put together a retrofit kit as more information becomes available.

Any luck with this? Were you able to find a connector for the compass?

i saw that you were looking to take out your compass and replace it with the clock. is that true? I have a new cayenne turbo that came with the clock, but i want the compass instead. maybe we should explore a swap??

If not the compass, will the clock work? I guess we will find out soon enough! Thanks for all the detective work!

Can someone take photos of how the clock looks (how it looks day and night would be awesome)? My dealer was clueless about this option when I questioned him. I also have compass ordered, but I'm curious about switching it out...

The Cayenne clock is the same as the sport chrono clock on the 911.

Like this one?

If so, that's pretty awesome, does it light up at night like the compass too?
