Gallardo or F430?
Damn, and here I thought I was being sneaky about wanting access to your Mini. Actually, it's a sincere offer to drive the LP given your experience. Again, I'm not out to change your mind, but I do like to go have some fun.
I agree that the lines of the Lambo favor a spyder. In my opinion, the Ferrari is best as a coupe but pretty sexy as a spyder. I'd pick the Lambo on this.
For the street, i'd pick the Lambo for most drivers. Assuming they cost the same to fix (I don't know that, just assuming) I'd imagine the Lambo, being all wheel drive, will tend to understeer a bit more than the Ferrari and as such, I'd be more comfortable if an inexperienced driver were behind the wheel than if the same driver were in the F car.
I think the Ferrari will reward a good driver (with track and racing experience) with it's Mid engine rear wheel drive set up. I'm sure it is much more happy to rotate.
With that said, the Ferrari is above the Lambo for me. They are both on my top 6 list. The F car is #2 (after the GT2), the Lambo is #6 after the Ford GT, Lotus Exige, and the Dodge Viper GTS ACR Final Edition.
Cheers,
Trevor

Just thought I would post this for opinions. I just took delivery of my 08 997 TT cab a few months ago but hey I'm a car guy and I'm looking ahead to the next car. I'm a rag top guy and looking at the Gallardo spyder vs the F430 spyder I almost think the Gallardo has better lines for a rag top. I always thought my next car would be a Ferrari but its got me thinking about a Lambo recently. I read on here all the time and I know lots of you own these 2 cars. Whada think?... Pro's/cons of both cars ect....
Totally different animals albiet same concept.
For a track tool, the Viper ACR is almost impossible to beat! 7:22 around the ring says alot for a car limited in top speed due to downforce. However given that my name is not Stig or Walter Rohrl than the reason I did not buy a Viper before still stands. I appreciate the safety net of stability control, as it truly has saved me from huge accidents.
( Had a sideways moment at a very high speed, I countersteered like a crazy lunatic and right away. But I truly believe it was mainly GOD and second stability control that saved me!) Stability control actually felt like the hand of God keeping the car straight!

That ACR at 7:22 was set up non stock. Different Seat, Tires and Suspension. I'd assume it would be over taken by the stock cars if they were set up as well. Limited top speed doesn't matter much on those 12.9 miles. The last straight isn't long enough to make that big of a difference.
The Viper to me was one of the worst driving experiences of my life. Damn those cars hate their drivers.
Tommy I might drive your beast but I will need sunglasses. Do you know your car is Lime Green. Most men are color blind. Thanks for that offer.
Blue don't you have an exige? Wouldn't that be taken off that list.
Ford GT solid car not mentioned much at all. They aren't the easiest to drive fast either. I've never tracked one but would like to one day.
I'm a huge Porsche fan and Glad to see MR FERRARI, DR Floss chiming in with good things to say about his new gt2. It's raw, mean and ever so fun to toss around the roads.
I'm surprised the CGT isn't on your list. IMHO it's the most stable high end car on the market at high speeds. Damn good car above 130mph. Why are there only 4 white ones in the world. Damn Porsche. Don't they know that helps the resale value of those 4.....

"Ferrari or nothing"

Nope the ACR comes with all of the things that it took to set the lap time. But a crew or race engineers and a car that is basically a fully adjustable street legal race car kind of help! And the ZR-1 has also ran 7:22's as well at the ring, its a lot less extreme than the Viper.
I don't know about the Carrera GT being more stable than the Veyron at speed, Chris Harris talking to the camera at 227 mph and looking like he was driving in a school zone. Tells me the Veyron is amazingly stable at a speed the CGT won't even reach! ( BTW saw one in person last summer, pure sex!)
I am very curious about the GT2 and hope to drive one or ride in one. The 996 and 997 Turbo are somehow missing some of the INSANITY that was present in the 996 Turbo S.

How about one word, "Ferrari."
Ok, now I can give you guys my impressions of 997TT vs GT2 vs Scuderia.
I've had my 997TT for a little over 2 years now and in that time period I've made a number of changes as you guys know. Bilstein coilovers, H&R sways, GT3 alignment specs, cargraphic exhaust, etc. She's a very capable machine. A GT grand tourer so to speak. So, it was when I drove the GT2, the I'd forgotten how raw a real sports car could be. From the instant I stepped in the car, I knew that I was in for something special. The steering ratio is much shorter from lock to lock and the clutch effort is noticably heavier. Off the line, the power differences is immediately apparent and when I hit the gas, the car moves like a scalded cat. It's a bit quickier off the line than the Turbo but once she starts moving then you can definitely tell that the GT2 is a faster car. I'd almost say that the ride/handling is jittery compared to the composed Turbo. Kind of like riding in a flat-bottomed boat across a slightly rough lake. It's supremely composed in the corners but you definitely have to drive with care as I was reminded at some points that this car was RWD, much more power and not as confidence inspiring.
And then when I settled in the Scuderia, I knew immediately from the surroundings that I was in for something special. The CF everywhere, metal flooring, and technical fabric throughout. From the time I pressed the "start" button, the engine roared to life with a deafening "growl" before settling into a nice rumbling idle. Off the line, the Scuderia isn't as explosive as the GT2 nor the Turbo but the velocity increases at a very rapid rate as you click off fast upshifts using the paddle shifters. This car is something special. The sound that it makes, the red shift lights coming on one by one as you soar past 6,000 rpms straining to keep your neck straightened. You can hear every pebble from underneath and the bare metal flooring translate an excellent road feel through your feet, your legs all the way up to your heart/head. The ride is not as harsh as the GT2 but not as supremely composed as the Turbo. You can tell that this is a serious driving machine meant for surgically precise driving through the twisties. This is a car that I can live with for the rest of my life. It's THAT much better than both the GT2 and the Turbo. I just cannot get over how viscereal the excuse was. I was grinning from ear to ear the whole time. And of course there's no denying the visual factor of this car which practically SCREAMS "Look out WORLD, I've arrived!"

Great review, I question however.....and this is my question to myself. When the Scuderia got slow and failed to give me that high as it invariably would. What in the world short of $50k would I do to it to make it faster? I know the GT2 could be easily taken to the next level, and to a level that anyone that drove it should be committed!
I took my composed sports car and did my best to make it a terrifying, pray for GOD and grab the non existent oh crap handle kind of car! That's the kind of car I lay awake at night for!

Damn, THAT'S what that color is! Crap! For some reason I thought it was red-silver with a very slight hint of brown.
I'd love to have any of the cars discuss but I'd much rather master my present beast
. I'm not much into the ****ting myself do to the power and torque of a car. I'd much rather have something that can handle in the twisties, looks great, and then keep me warm in bed
