PCM shuts off and on

On 4 occasions in the last 2 months, the PCM in my car has shut off and on while driving. It shut off, then restarts itself....works fine other wise. Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks...i called the dealer on Friday and he told me that it is a common problem that they can fix with a PCM update that takes about 30 mins.

that's good to know, mine just started to do that today. PCM just stated doing this to me OFF and ON every 5 mins or so.

I'll be calling me dealer this week.

got appointment with dealership this freaking sux every 2 mins, even if when it turns back on and I turn off the radio after it resets it turns it back on and sound back on.

http://vid113.photobucket.com/albums...psec69bdba.mp4

besides the break issues before, both KeyFob not being recognized by the vehicle (locked out of the car for 1hr at least ),

Prior to getting the non stop resetting of PCM I got a couple weird messages on the dash " place on park or reverse or something to that context warning " while I was already parked. I've seen other weird errors pop up for a second but disappear before I can even take a picture, no check engine either.

wonder whats next to happen to this car

This happens in my PTT as well. It comes in waves where it will crash a bunch of times in a row for a day or so. Then be fine for months. Please keep us updated if the software update solves the problem.

Thanks

If my iPod is connected I have to switch to another source before disconnecting or else PCM will freeze until iPod is connected again...maybe an update will solve this.

Well this morning as I turned on the car, I immediately turned off the radio ( Even though I know after 2 mins or so it would reset and turn back on by itself ) to my surprise... it never reset. ( I'm glad I took a video as evidence to show the dealership ).

During that quiet time though I did hear the faint sounds of whirling or winding sound from the PCM. After a while I noticed the PCM wasn't resetting like it has been doing for over a week, plus now my real time navi is showing traffic, I can also save stations again. I have not checked though it I can hook up my Ipod, charge phone on lighter connection with out it going bonkers again.

I had the same issue, had pcm flashed two times and it still kept crashing. Once my sirius radio subscription ran out and I no longer had sat radio enabled the crashing/rebooting stopped.

Did it come back again? I'm taking mine to the dealer for this annoyance. I have video as well.

Suncoast Porsche did the update on the PCM today and it is fixed.
Interesting, the service manager said that since i had alerted him to my problem a week ago he has been getting 5 to 6 calls a day from Panamera and Cayenne owners with Sirius XM with the same problem.
PAG & PCNA are aware , but no official service bulletin yet.

Taking it to the dealer, but I bet I could've fix it with a regular flux capacitor off of RadioShack.
If it wasn't a Porsche I would've tried it.

Most probably that's what they will replace anyways.

Let's see.
