Starter replacement questions

So i am in process of replacing starter on the car. Taking top of engine, intake throttle body, etc, easy.
Popped sucker up, discovered that the starter is under the fuel rail.
Based on what I see, I may have to pull out the fuel rail to get the starter out.
I need help from those who may have done it on cayenne turbo, or similar.
Here are some pics of what it looks like after I pulled the intake off.
Nice surprise - coolant pipes already changed to ones that are bolted, vs epoxied ones. One less thing to think about.

Here are pics. Let me know if you can help direct to continue removing starter.
If you look at the starter connections, you can see some blackened areas. What does that mean? Starter issues for sure? Thanks for help.

I know. Would this be another sign of starter going? Under normal circumstances this would not look that black.

yeah under normal circumstances I can see the stater arcing like that - I would double check your ground strap, make sure its clean and tight, it's almost like the ground path had changed.

Which ground strap are you referring to? I am aware of one from alternator to the chassis.
Where and how would I check that? Need to know. Thank you for help.

Hey cIaka!, good thing i saw your post befor eyou went on... You can do it without takig out the rail, however, you have to take pull all of the wiring thats connected to the starter and pull it out of the way. Once you do that, unbolt the two screw that hold the starter on.... Then you'll tilt and shimmy up the starter, haha. Some patience, thats all... But taking off the fuel rail isnt a bad idea and isnt hard at all to do.

As an update, I removed the fuel rail, relatively easy. Will have to remember to torque just right, and follow pressure procedure from FSM after putting together.

So rail out, I removed the starter bolts. A helpful family member was looking at the process and decided to help by moving the coolant vent line 'out of the way'.
Crack. One connector right bank broke. So now I will have to remove the line and install new one. Done for today. This will be my project for next days.
Starter still not fully out. Very tight to come out....hope to have it out today. Will try later after I come back from some family outing.

Hey Ciaka, Im gonna start on this similar project today as well and we can go through this together.... Prolly not a bad idea to have to change that coolant vent line out anyways, lol... Bot for the time being, you can clean out that throttle plate... It'll make this adventure much worth it! lol.

Thanks Alex.
I took rail out. Easy.
In process of wrestling starter out. Tight.
As said, relative offered help to move lines and grabbed vent line. Cracked it at valve cover. So no way to do today.

If anyone can walk me with checking g ground, it will be great.
Need to verify before putting together.
Thanks.

no real easy way to check the strap, you'll need to come up from under the car.
as a reference, my cat measures .5-.7 Ohms from the engine to the chassis.

You talking about ground strap from chassis to alternator?
There is one under car, maybe 8 inch long. Flat metal mesh.
Any other place?
