I agree with this, and yes when the manufactures run the ring they have mechanics and technicians and extra tires, unlimited budget, etc and professional drivers I hope no one out here thinks your gonna run a 7:12 with a 991.2 GT3 and match what the factory did or even come close to it thats not gonna happen with any car and your average driver.

That being said I mentioned in my post last week or so what was the mph and I think someone said it was 130 now that is a world of difference from 140. which is way more than a few pounds up front and down 50hp. I would expect a 135mph easy.

Airstrip season coming up shortly and have dates for Shift Sector and NoFlyZone. I'm looking forward to this.

I wouldn't bet on any Demons making it to shift sector, I can also tell you that my 530whp camaro whopped up on 2 hellcat it raced last shift sector it trapped 148mph 15 times, so they are not all that fast in the 1/2 mile either.

Your attitude is objectionable by wrongfully calling out Dodge for their achievement. Are your feelings hurt by what I wrote or by Dodge's marketing department and test drivers? It's hard to tell at this point. Why don't you put the challenge out at a dragstrip? Btw, no Demons have been delivered yet. Does the airstrip event allow drag radials or slicks? Any surface prep? What will the DA be? Back to naming the conditions that only benefit you again.

Regardless of our differences in opinions, have fun and be safe.

While I think the Challenger platform is pretty cool in the sense of muscle car swagger and the motor really earns it some valid bragging rights, they are very heavy cars and have a lousy aerodynamic profile. Didn't realize it would make the times that different but in hindsight it's not that surprising.

Yes the airstrip event allows DRs and slicks. Most cars run these tires because they are trailered in. Yes the airstrip events are prepped with a sweeper. I will be on street tires driving to and from the event on near stock tire pressure and pump 91 gas. So how does that benefit only me??

Didn't earlier you say its they are dusty? AWD is your benefit.

I pointed out the difference in DA, weight and power have a severe effect on trap speed, didn't you see that part?

Motor Week reports consistent Low 10s despite less than ideal conditions. I doubt it was on race gas and slicks too.

It's on the tires they claimed the 9 seconds (1:30 min into the video), regarding the fuel...the videos show a dedicated track day for the Demon's, doubt they did not use race fuel and that the track was not prepped properly to "try" accomplish what Dodge did.

The 9.65 was ideal conditions, slicks and skinnys. The video shows both the stock 315 DRs and skinnys. The other media event was a dedicated track day and there was no mention by any journalist of using or even having the option the race gas selection nor was there in this video.

Temps in the 90s and high humidity and they ran low 10s all afternoon. Enough said right there.

Ah perhaps this video of the press event was the same one as the others and they were using the in-vehicle performance data recorder? That's certainly possible.

What cracks me up is here is a car 200lbs lighter, systems and tires specifically designed for a harder launch and cooler IATs, and 101 hp more than a Hellcat, and you guys are doubting low 10s while the stock Hellcat does low 11s on stock tires and high 10s on DRs only.

Hilarious.
