Rebuilding a Porsche 996 Turbo(cup)-03 to a street legal racecar..
Haha yes... But the be honest it was pretty easy I used a tool that helped me pretty much! ;-)
No so I bought if I remember correctly a RSR clone package done from one of the RSR teams in Europe. The plan is to be able to use 27/65/18 and 300/65/18
In the front and 31/71/18 in the back! The problem in the back is the air tunnels which give you a problem running the right ride height for a race car!!
But I take on that problem when we get there!! :-)
Well his nose looked a bit awkward and there were some nosebleed on the steering wheel.... ;-) Otherwise he seemed to be ok..
His French self esteem was a bit broken down and he really didn't want to talk to me.. But I was eager to get the spare keys so I called him until I got them... ;-)

Here is the onboard clip from the Porsche Cup finals of 2013..
I´m struggling with a ABS problem making me lock up rears a lot ans making the car really nervous in braking.. Ended second after a 997Turbo RSR.
I blow one WG arm in the middle of the race losing about 1/3th of the power with slow boost build which makes everything interesting again for the last 25% of the race when also needing to do a lot of lapping of slower cars..

Right now its CUP clone decklid with custom uprights and a own designed double wing(Mayor wing blade are a widened 996CUP and small blade is designed by me together with the endplates).

Hi Pete,
Nice build!
I've read through your thread several times in the past 1 1/2 yrs or so. I am doing a similar project - well somewhat anyway. I am building a 997 GT2 RS replica from a 6tt (actually, I am finishing the project that the previous owner started. I purchased a completely disassembled 996 with all OEM 7 GT2 RS body parts). I am going to convert to 2wd, tune the motor to ~600+ hp - in short, do many of the same things you did though my emphasis will be slightly more street oriented. Thank you for the infos!
Is that SMR ahead of you in the first minute or so in the vid? It's hard to tell, but it looks like RSR bodywork. I found SMR's threads too as I originally considered building an RSR for the street. I found my car/project while searching for a donor car for the RSR.
I may have to start a build thread too.

That sounds awesome!! Start a build thread!! :-)
Right now I'm converting mine to a 997 RSR/Gt3R hybrid!! :-) still street legal is the plan!! :-) the reason is SMR with his turbo RSR, I need to go faster!! And yes it's him in front of me!! ;-)
Yes do it!!
Thank you so much for this thread! I've been following it since you started it and it keeps giving and giving
Great updates and I love the long term commitment you've made. Most people just want to build and move on to the next project but you have continued to refine and improve on a great platform.
