Yeah the EBC is running pretty well. Will fiddle some more with it next spring after seeing what the dyno says...I'm probably being a little overcautious in the 3800-4400rpm range but better to leave some power on the table than have to put the engine on the table, lol.

Well that's it for another season...got it back from the shop just in time before the snow and ice came. When I picked it up the guys asked me if I knew that my tires were worse than bald...I was like
"whaaaaaaat", they aren't that old. He showed me the places where the nylon bead was visible, lol. Looks like I'll be on the hook for new rubber in the spring, I think I will take the opportunity of getting
some new wheels and tires...maybe even "deep dish" as I've wished for since I first got the car but I think that style has passed. Here's what I really like:
I don't think this company is still in business unfortunately but I LOVE the look. Wife says they should be in black, lol.
I gave up on the dream of bigger brake discs...found a company that used to sell the caliper extension adapter to allow for bigger discs but they never replied to my inquiry. Besides, I don't know where to get larger discs without the whole kit anyway. I'll go with either Zimmerman or Sebro rotors and Textar/TRW pads.
I've unofficially started the penny jar for the 992 turbo S...finally something that makes me consider moving on from the 997tt, but not for another 5 or 6 years anyway...

I got my little overboost code (p0234) issue figured out. Apparently the VTG boost tables were still active in the ECU, even though they weren’t actually doing anything since the boost is externally controlled. All Sam had to do was raise the thresholds on the VTG tables and the issue is gone. That’s good news. Otherwise the car has been flawless. In the cooler weather my 60-100 is 2.51 seconds on 91 with methanol. Pretty stout! I’ll have to try it out on e85 at some point this winter.

Have you done any 60-130’s?
I am as well at a cross roads , but not sure what to do. I have PTF’s(Dzenan’s) old Alpha kit (A3076’s, Klein headers, Klein exhaust with customers boost pending valves ) & not sure to put it in.
If i knew I was keeping the car another 4-5 years and building the motor then yes, but after purchase inquiries on my car, the cost of my transmission rebuild and associated powertrain upgrades ..... just not sure if all that headache would be worth (even go gain wise) it on stock motor with the for-mentioned as well.

My 60-130 isn't great due to my shifting- its 6.0 seconds in the few 60-130 pulls I've done. The 60-100 time in 3d gear pulls is 2.51, and the 100-130 time in 4th gear pulls is 2.76. So if I could somehow eliminate shifting, the car is capable of 5.27 seconds on 91 plus meth.
Bogg pretty much nailed it when he told me that doing Xona's on the car would make the car's performance on pump gas essentially equal to VTG's on e85. So if you are running on e85, then maybe it's not worth it to do the Alpha turbos. But on the other hand, if you have e85 available, you could do the Alphas and run e85 for some monster power. My car makes 100 more wheel HP and 60 more wheel torque on e85 with the Xonas than 91 and meth. I had not yet done any timed runs on e85 yet. But indeed I think you would need to build your motor to take advantage of Alphas on e85. It's a very slippery slope!!

Bobby, I know what you mean about a crossroads...sink more money vs cut your losses. Did you sort out the transmission issue you were having?
While I'd love to build the engine and enjoy the mega power I think the money would be better spent as a payment on a 2021 992tts, in a few years lol. Still looking
for rims for my car so I'm not done putting $$ into it yet.

Inlet pipes too smalll?
Hello! It’s been a crazy year, but finally getting around to getting the xona turbos installed!
The car is at the shop and they say my do88 inlet pipes connecting to the turbo outlet are too small. Did you guys have this problem?

I have do88 inlet pipes, and I am not aware that there were any issues with the fit on the XR1000's.
Here is a preview of what you will be enjoying once your car is up and running with the Xonas. This is with a moderately lazy third to 4th gear shift.

can you please elaborate? On yours, do you know if they had a hard time stretching the do88 pipes onto the compressor housing?
I’m hearing that stretching the 56mm id hose onto the 60ish mm od housing will have problematic pop-offs.

You can probably shoot Sam at ByDesign a quick email or text about the Do88 intake pipes for clarification. I put mine in myself when I was running 68vtg’s. When the Xonas went on I’m not aware that they had any issues fitting on the Xonas. And maybe Pwdrhound can provide some additional detail- he’s pretty hands on and knowledgeable.
Btw- the Dragy 60-130 pull I posted was on 91 and meth, my daily driver set up. I haven’t done an e85 pull. I’ve only run half a tank of e85 through the car so far but I can tell you that it was way faster and stronger on e85, and on the dyno it made a full 100 wheel HP more than on the current 91 plus meth. So I should be in the 4’s on e85!
Your car should run similar to mine- you may well be faster.... I’m not a great driver WRT shift speed and launching. I’m a road course driver and not a drag racer......

I had the DO88 inlets on my 68s too and wasn't aware of any issue getting them to mate with the Xonas...
Just ordered a set of Brixton Forged RF7 wheels in black with 12 inch wide rears. If the HRE Flowform wheels had been available in 12 inch wide rear I would have gone for them for the HRE name but alas they only go
up to 11 inches wide...
Hope I don't get pummelled with the 20 inchers on front and rear. Thought about leaving the fronts as 19s but finally just said "heck with it" and will try 20s all around. Most of the highways I use are "decent".
I have the replacement led drl lights to swap out when it gets a little warmer in the garage too and hopefully within a month or so the beast will be back on the streets!
