Dead Battery issue...

So I "inadvertently" left my lights on- Battery completely dead- so I cannot open the trunk to jump the battery. So you are supposed to go pull the "red tab" out from the fuse box and trickle charge that way. EXCEPT for the fact that my "red tab" happens to be pushed in so that you cannot grab it or even "needle nose" grab it- that being said the owners manual is in the trunk - so any ideas????

Someone said that there is a cable underneath the wheel well that will open the trunk? Anyone know anything else about that?

Thanks in advance.

Got it open- went through the wheel well- and reached up and pulled that cable and it popped! Not the easiest thing to do- I will say that- actually I did not do it- had the AAA guy do it- tipped him well- what a freakin" nightmare...

A far easier way would be to connect a battery maintainer or a 9V battery to the cigarette lighter.

The right way is to apply 12v to the +12 jumper point in the fuse panel and the -ve to the door hinge - then press the trunk release lever.

If you cannot get the +12v jump point pulled out from the fuse panel, I'd resolve that issue.

Given the number of folks that have their manuals in the frunk, I'm wondering if a short 1-3 page document of "Essentials you need to know if your battery is dead" that can be stored UNDER a rear seat pad would be beneficial. Maybe just scans of the important pages from the manual and other processes?

actually, a good place to store the proper instructions is in the fuse panel itself along with the fuse panel guide that is stored there
