Documenting my C6 ZO6 build
Love those things.
Thanks, Eric. Not sure if I'll rub as well. I think Jamie might be a bit lower than I am. The 345/30/18 BFGs are always a consideration as well...they're 1.4 inches shorter.
Every time I finally decide on a 996tt... Your Z06 just pops up somewhere and makes me start thinking about a Z06. I would have the EXACT same look you do with the hood and all. I love your Z and just wanted to say amazing car and can't wait to hear the final numbers!

You can't go wrong with either car, IMO.
Thanks, Ari. That's a really nice compliment. Wait until the windows get tinted and I slap on my gloss black race wheels. It'll look pretty sinister.
Scott, do you plan on getting a race gas file? Do you know of anyone in the tidewater area that sell VP109? The highest unleaded octane I found around here was sunoco 100 octane at the indian river location. Then again, I'm not sure you'll need a race file.
. Can't wait to see the results!
Zulu is correct wrt the race file. Since I have a blower, I can't change boost levels on the fly like you can with a turbo...I'd need to swap out the pulley.
That said; we are going to dyno the car on 93 octane and also 100 octane unleaded to see how much more power it makes simply from the ECU adapting. If it's significant, I'll run 100 octane when/if I really need any extra power.
But no, we aren't going to run a seperate race file.

I just ordered a set of 345/35/18 Mickey Thompson Street Radials II's for my CCWs.
I was originally going to go with the M&H's, but they run tall (28" for the M&H's vs 27.5" for the Mickey's) and have caused some rubbing issues on the fender liners of some lowered Z's. I'm hoping the shorter Mickey's will prevent this. Plus, they're $100.00 cheaper per tire.
I'm hoping to finally have numbers for you guys by this Thursday.
