I'm just thinking of things like standing mile and 60-130mph runs. I'm sure it would help with quarter mile times as well, but with that much HP it would be nice to be able to dial down the slip when you don't want the tail stepping out.

I'm not totally familiar with how the racelogic system works, whether it retards fuel/spark based on wheel speed or angle, but I do know its one of the best in the business. Some standalone units have traction control as well, which is why I was curious about that.
James,

I'm not familiar with a setup like that for a S/C car but I'll be sure to run it by MTI. Thanks for the info.

It would work for a S/C car as unlike AEM or other gear-based boost control, it doesn't directly modify your boost level. It works by cutting fuel to individual cylinders in a safe and predetermined manner. It has setting for rain and then different levels of user-programmed acceptable wheel slip before it intervenes.

I will find the post and send you a PM. He had an S/C and switched to a twin turbo if I remember correctly.

Yes, it would be fine for a SC, Turbo, or NA car. It doesn't alter boost, but instead cuts fuel as stated above (spark too?) 95RougeM3, you have the supercharged e36 m3 with a CF and ~500whp correct? Do you run Racelogic?

Divexxtreme, what kind of tires will you be running to handle this level of power? Some DOT drag radials in some awesomely huge rear width?

And I wish you a safe deployment. Thank you for serving our country. It should be nice to return to drive this monster you're building.

No, I had (and sold) a GT35R M3 with 535whp and 545wtq. I had no form of traction control, though had I kept it was planning on setting up the gear-based boost control in my AEM standalone. You are thinking about my buddy Dave who had a CF supercharged E36 making 525whp. He is now turbocharged and hopes to make in excess of 650whp. His car didn't really need traction control (aside from 1st gear) as the boost was so linear that it didnt cause excessive wheelspin.

In all honesty, I dont think the racelogic or other units are necessary with a CF supercharger. However, with Scott's PD blower, it will be a huge asset considering all the torque he will be making off idle.

For normal street driving, 345/25/20 Nitto Invos. When I need to hook, I'll have some custom grooved Hoosier A6's 345/30/19s.

A guy in Texas got his car back last week, and he's running essentially the same setup I'm getting...but with 3 psi less boost and a stock bottom-end. He said the power comes on so smooth, it's incredible. Of course 1st an 2nd are worthless, but 3rd hooks extremely well. He's running PS2's out back which I believe are little less sticky than the Invos.

We'll see.

Thanks, man. I really appreciate the support.

Great info, Rogue. It's definitely something to put in my back pocket for possible use in the future. I'll have to wait until get the car back to see if it's something I would actually need.

Good luck with the build.

FYI, in my experience, the PS2s are quite a bit stickier than the INVOs.

Scott,
Fyi, I've been testing the 18" M&H and for the first time, I can hook 1st gear N/A without doing a burnout. I was even running 24 psi. I was never able to do that on my 18" BFG's at 18 psi. So early indications are positive. I haven't sprayed it yet, but will once weather improves.

I really think you're going to need a set of 18's. I wouldn't waste the money trying to find 19" rubber. You've got the cruising 20's, so sell the OEM wheels and get a set of lightweight 18's with M&H.

And skip the Racelogic....I've tried it on my previous Supra and even after spending a lot of time setting it up with some guys over in Europe, it still couldn't react fast enough. You can go faster peddling it....

Jamie,

I agree. I think the M&H's are probably my best option. Thanks for the info.

I told ya so! haha

I have the 28" tall 325 17" M+H's on my street wheels and a set of 28" 325 x 15" MT DR's on my race wheels. I went to a local track that never hooks for me, and I made 2 passes on each set. I bogged twice on more aggressive rpms with the street wheels and M+H's tan I did with my "race" set up on MT's. I still pulled over .1 better 60's bogging the M+H's over the spinning MT's. I love them, and will probably try to get a set of 18" rims to run the new 18" M+H's since they are 2" wider than their 17" version.

Can't wait til you get back with the car running Scott.

My car is at MTI now getting some work done. I talked to Reese and Roman Saturday and they said the red TVS Z06 turned out to be a beast. They are really wanting to see what this package will do with some more boost.

Ya, I keep hearing a lot of great stuff about them. They really seem to be the ticket.

I'll keep in touch, Shane. I look forward to seeing you when I get back bro.

Ya, Mike (the owner of the red car) is thrilled with his car right now. He's acting like a kid on Christmas morning, and he's in his 60's. He said it's ridiculously fast, but surprisingly smooth...and he's coming from a cam/bolt-on car.

They should be getting started any day now, if they haven't already. I know we were waiting for the pistons, but they came in Monday. My axles came in last week and everything else should be there already.

I'll post new pics when I get some.

Looking forward to giving an unbaised opinion on my buddy Mikes new set up after I flog it a bit...after seeing the install top to bottom on Mikes lift, Reese and the guys did one hell of a job...it may be a few more days as I'm still trying to recover from one of the worst days in my life.

F'n people...

Mike is coming form a cam only/bolt on/tune set up making 550+...He's a great guy thats a gear head from way back racing the NHRA circuit w/ motorcylces and has always had some bad *** cars. I'll post up after I get some seat time...
