new problem
First off I need to apologize for unloading all my noob questions on this forum within the forst 2 weeks of 2006 vantage ownership. But I do have yet another issue to sort out.
Last week I replaced the Rear rotors, rear break pads, and emergency brake pads. All Factory Aston Martin parts that cam from Las Vegas. So after parts and labor the cost was 2,000.
My issue is that all this week the car now squeaks, chirps and squeals like a rusty door hinge noise whenever the vehicle is in motion. The noise is obviously coming from the rear wheels. It's actually quite loud and completely obvious and annoying especially as I slow at a stop light or roll around through my neighborhood, parking lots etc. The noise is not there with break pressure only when the car is in motion.
My mechanic (no aston dealership as the nearest is 700 miles away) took another look by pulling the wheels back off and said everything looked good??? I'm really bummed out so far. Hoping to get this Vantage sorted out from whoever the hell owned it before me. New tires, new oil, new brakes new rotors... been a costly week. Any advice on what to try next?

see if the shims have anti squeak compound applied during the fitting of the new pads? possibly the anti rattle springs (as we call them here) have been left out?
the fact that the noise goes away when you touch the brake pedal is the key here that nothing major is wrong? but lets here from the guys who really know?

Thanks for all the help and tips. I'm going to go through these one by one to isolate the issue and see what it is.
I just spoke to an Aston Service tech in Nevada and he thinks that the emergency brakes need adjusting out. He explained that if the noise gets worse as the car warms up, it's due to expansion of the pad itself as it rubs against the rotor.
I'm thinking my mechanic might not have adjusted those to account for new rotors and new pads... I'm going to try that and also have him double check the shims and the anti rattle springs as suggested as well...
Thanks All. I will chime back in when I have found the issue and resolved it. I LOVE forums! So helpful!

Another common issue is replacing hand brake pads and adjusting them when car is in the air.
Once it's back on wheels the cables move and the pads constantly contact the rear discs. They need adjusting with it in the ground.

Found the issue. Ran the vantage to local Ferrari dealer and had a friend tech look at the vantage. The issue is that my emergency brake cable is broken free on one side so it can't release 100% of the tension against the rotor. The brake light goes off to indicate proper release but the cable itself is not.
Solution= new e-brake cable.
soon this car will be sorted out and taken car of by a proper owner. I think the past owner neglected to fix this prior to selling the car to me.

I'm back on the Road. The E-brake cable was indeed the problem. I had to have the e-brake calipers reset as well so that they didn't rub too much... The last word from the Aston Tech to the Ferrari dealership was "these cars are really picky about the brakes and adjustments- they have to be spot on!".
I am finally ready to start really enjoying the driving experience!
