Well we do have some leaks - the x-pipe connection to the stock exhaust leaks on both sides. The Aston clamps are welded into place so any mi-alignment in the pipes cannot be clamped out. We ground off the welds of one of the clamps and rotated it and made good headway, but still leaked a little because we are against the stop block before the joint is fully sealed. There is no noise, but it is definitely spitting thru the gap. I ordered some stepped clamps from Summit.

The sound - just love it. It is not loud which is great. It is quite a bit more high pitched than stock, but the volume is very fitting for the car. Driving the Mustang with nothing, but a pair of Borla mufflers can cure ones need for noise for months at a time . Last time I drove it I used ear plugs under my helmet.

We are waiting on the tune from VAP. Probably get it tomorrow. No CEL or any other strange messages.

Side view for reference.

VAP Sport - perfect fit - love the sound. Rich has a Sport Pack rear bar ordered.

Driving it with that noise is a hoot - can't wait to get it to PIR where we can really run it. I won't be wearing ear plugs

Gets lipstick Monday morning.

Muffler Valve Vacum Pump Delete

While putting the rear fender liners back in I remembered the pump for the OEM exhaust valves. We unplugged it from the harness and started it up and got no complaints so we pulled it and the tubing and thru it in the parts bin.

wow wow wow wow - I flashed the tune. Holy crap I had no idea what a difference it would make. Heel and toe like butter. It is so much quicker.
Awesome stuff Stewart - thank you.

On the Sport exhaust - louder than stock. Below 3000 quiet - from there on scream - at 6000 - oh man. I cannot wait to run it wide open.

On KW Coilovers. 15 clicks from full soft to full hard. They were delivered set at 7 clicks. This was too soft for me. I ran the compression as stiff as it would go and it was great, but far to stiff for street (will run them on the track this way). I backed it off to 11 but it is still a tad stiff running slow. Next time we have it on the rack I will move it to 9. A good friend drove it and likes it the way it is. If you are pushing it, it does great, but slow speed bumps are a little harsh for me. I have not played with rebound as it is quite fast at the middle setting.

Drive-ability - It is such a different animal. I am not use to such balance. Turn in is so quick I tend to overdrive the apex. I have yet to find the swing weight against the steering. The flash tune corrected all of the hesitation and I can heel and toe quite easily. I have been running with just the exhaust for several days and was actually finding the timing for heel and toe in the stock configuration. The tune eliminates the anticipation needed to spin it on time - very nice.

What beautiful machines. I am taking it to a car show tomorrow.

On Tuning

Thank You!

I don’t usually add in the throttle remapping but when I noticed you had a manual trans, thought you’d like it if ever using heel-toe. You no longer have to bury the throttle just to get a little bump in the rpm.

I’ve also added in a bunch of timing to the mid-range, if you fill up with an octane above 91aki/95RON, it will really wake up!! J

Kind Regards,
Chris

I had 3 of my guy's drive the Car Friday morning. They are all familiar with it and all three were blown away by the tune. We loaded it up for the Mossy Rock Blueberry Festival and headed North.

Mrs. Chr, My Mom, and Kyanne our ranchless ranch dog.

Lots of "What in the F3G is that? It is rather amazing how little you see them.

Some of my favorites

1965 F250 4 Wheel Drive - only made 2 years. Quite stock - might start looking for one. This one is drive daily. They were lifted as delivered.

What a great day -

We are scheduled to run at Portland on Sunday.

We fixed the airbag clunk and installed a Redpants overflow tank (Thank You Rich)

Fixed the exhaust

added a stiffer rear bar

These came in today. The most difficult shipment ever. Ran into all kinds of GOVCO regulations. I still only have 3 Hoping the 4th will arrive tomorrow. (beautiful - Thank You Stuart)

Track pads (I hope they stop better than the street pads) - 18x10 - 275 Goodrich R1. Once we get some experience and can see how the brake ducts package we will most likely put a wider tire on it.

The R1 likes -2.5 Camber. Can anyone recommend caster and toe for track work?

Awesome stuff as always!

The R4 pads will stop you like crazy, especially with those tires. You're going to generate a ton of heat, so I'd recommend some upgraded brake fluid if you haven't gotten to it yet.
