Greetings from Niagara, Ontario, Canada
So time for an oil and filter change.
I'd be seeing the ads in my Top Gear Supercars magazine for Castrol Edge Supercar 10w60 so I had Amazon deliver me a case to try this time.
Based on the weight it didn't come via drone lol.

I grabbed the bits needed for the job I had ordered previously from Rich:

For the oil filter, I'm going with the black one this time:

Grabbed more tools than I needed but I hate being under the car and realizing you're missing something...

For me the easiest and safest method is to drive onto a pair of car ramps:

With the access cover and oil cap removed, I worked front to back draining oil from the 5 points (reservoir drain plug 13mm, oil filter, sump plug 13mm, front bypass filter and rear bypass filter):

New sump plug installed (trick is to push new plug inward while turning to start threading easier):

I took the opportunity to install Redpants supplied hex bolts on the bypass filter covers after they were cleaned and o-rings replaced. Thanks Rich for including the puller bolts saving me a trip to search for where I likely misplaced mine:

Refilled with 10 litres of oil and level was perfect.
Job done in less that half the time it took on my first oil change!
Therefore had time for a waterfront patio lunch at Pier 61

Well I've been enjoying the Vantage and am behind on updating the thread.
Since it will be stored for the winter, I should have lots of time to catch up and post more photos in chronological order.
I was successful daily driving the V8 Vantage 10,000 miles this summer with no breakdowns, tows or major repairs.

I recently purchased an Audi S5 (4.2L V8, 6 speed manual, Premium Package) that will be my new daily driver and practical AWD winter car. A low mileage very well dealer maintained example that my wife has recently been driving as her "summer car"

Here are a few pics of its amazing condition:

This has also made is easier to ensure that my Aston is looking its best when sharing it at shows:

Funny...at first it was my son's Mustang next to you..
Both cars are nice of yours...I am thrilled you drove trouble free on the AM...
This threat is so long I am not sure many people remember your car when you first purchased it and started your threat...
I enjoy reading it when time allows...safe driving

Yes I've already tinted the windows on the Audi and added a weather-tech trunk liner - likely just the beginning
I heard a brake noise from the rear and it turned out one of the ends of the caliper spring popped out and was intermittently touching the rim. Since the spring wasn't damaged I simply reinstalled it and will monitor to ensure it stays put. Here are a few photos of the remove and re-install:

It was a nice get together with the club to tour the new facility including the service area and the underground parking for the inventory of new Aston Martin and Lamborghini models. They also have a detailing area in the safe and secure basement.
Underground storage:

New V12 Vantage S 7speed:

Detail area:

Interesting rear subframe and transaxle from Jaguar XJ220:

Next post to continue with main level...

Yes that name plate caught my eye as different from the norm on older Astons...
I also sat in and checked out the new DB11 up close:

I also liked the display of the Aston Martin badges over the past 100 years:

I caught myself walking up to a fellow club members car realizing it's wasn't mine (mine was 2 spots over in the background)

We finished up the evening heading to dinner at a nearby restaurant:

I really enjoyed chatting with forum member and car guy handyman2009 a couple evenings while in the capital city of Canada on business.
He has a beautiful 2009 tastefully modified with some cosmetic upgrades.
It was really nice sharing our stories and experience with the Aston Martin brand. The second night was even more special as we were able to attend a cruise night together showing both Vantages to the locals.
I really appreciated the hospitality and meeting his family.
The round trip was a reliable 800 miles and would do it again next summer.
I had special covered parking at the hotel with a view of the car from the hotel room (so I slept well). But hey that is what insurance is for
Below are some of the pictures I took there:

It was really nice to finally meet and hang around the man that wasn't afraid to tackle such a big DIY project, you did a fantastic job bringing back all the beauty in your Vantage. Here in Ottawa, we don't have a lot of Aston Martin owner (or at least I don't know many) and I love talking about cars and like Ryan said it was a lot of fun. When in Ottawa again ring me up... if the cars are in storage for the winter we can always go for a beer :-)
