Nice pictures...but that red interior blinded me...it is a little over the top I feel. But as they say one person's trash is another person's treasure...

Safe driving...rainy here in New Jersey today.

Post DB11 V8 / V12 Coupe interiors

The Blue V8 had a common dark interior but the V12 had a colour scheme that was different and luxurious looking:

Well...much better than the red interior...very detailed pics....I am sure everyone appreciates. I do!

Did you know the Vantage model was originally Suppose to have a rear engine not front engine? Ford killed it after they surveyed customers. How neat that car would have been to have...

Oh well...off into the rain with my non AM car...wife is hungry...mmm just realized she is cooking less and less...lol

Enjoy your day...

Excuse my ignorance on the new models but does that Ipad navigation screen thing fold away ? Can you opt to not have it if it doesnt fold away ?
It looks like crap sat there like a bump on a log ...ruins the flow of the dash .
And what is that leather wrapped cell phone looking thing where the shifter should be ?

That is current Mecedes tech controller and fixed screen.
I don't like the appearance of them in Mercedes either but that's what Aston had to work with into their design...

Post It's Family Day in Ontario so I was home when DHL arrived...

Slowly but surely I'm collecting the parts needed for my upgrade to Alpine Premium Audio project.

What arrived was the Alpine lead link harness to adapt from one amplifier to a pair:

Also the hardware (screws, spacers and tie bars) required to mount the new premium amps in the stock location using the OEM method:

Pleased to report I was able to find and purchase used premium amplifiers needed for the upgrade from standard audio (as a reasonable price).
They were bought as a pair removed from a 2007 Vantage being parted out.

The premium sub-woofer amp actually has a Volvo part number on it so keep that in mind if you are inspired to do this project.

Here are the pics of the amps received - I did get to hear the stereo working before they were pulled so I know they work:

Cool some online purchased goodies arriving...

I bought carbon fiber taillight inserts as cosmetic accents.
The quality and finish looks good making them a good value.
Of course I will keep the painted OEM ones to stay with the car.
Once they are installed on the car, I can make a final decision if they improve the appearance to my eye.

Post Had a pair of custom wheel spacers made...

Hub-centric aluminium, with 5 x 114.3 mm 10.9 grade studs.
I decided on a spacer thickness of 25 mm since it's made to order.
They will be used with the 19" OEM 7 spoke wheels.
Cost was $160 and below are the pictures:

Do you know (I guess you do given your other technical skills) that you will need shorter studs as on the hubs or machining to rear of standard wheels to fit these as the existing studs will foul the rear of the wheel

ask me how I know!!!

Yes Graeme, please post what your solution was.
I did order 25 mm thickness spacers instead of 23 mm to increase my odds but since the pockets on the rear 7 spokes are different than the sport pack wheels...I didn't claim direct bolt on

7 Spoke Rear Wheel Pockets

Sports Pack Rear Wheel Pockets

I had also noticed the 7 spoke pockets don't go as far outboard in diameter as on the sport pack.

Ryan

my solution isnt what you want - it was to change wheels to V12V wheels with 11mm on the rear and 5mm on the front

I think the only real solution is the shorter studs

good luck

Graeme
