On my DB9 Volante I have a frozen latch for the deck of the top. It is in the closed position and I can't get it to open. Any ideas on how to fix that without having to dismantle the motor that is hidden behind the rear window motor?
Thanks
Francis

Have you tried putting 12V on it? It wouldn't surprise me that it is like the motors for electric parking brakes - runs till it torques out. Try running it backwards?
I thought about it but the motor is inside a plastic box in two parts screwed together. 7 screws 6 of which are hidden by the widow motor/ mechanism.
The screwed panel on the box is fairly flimsy and could be cut with a cutter knife and glued back but it would be messy and still behind the window motor.
I would just add 12v (from a battery tender/charger) to the connector at the end of the pig tail and see what happens. If it doesn't spin or gets hot, stop!
Unfortunately I have the coupe wiring diagram and not the volante. Sheets 17, 18, & 19 would be most informative if anyone has them!

All the wiring diagrams (including Volante) are in the DB9 workshop manual, link below
