Bentley key not recognised

I hope all you clever folks can help me with this. About a year ago I had the dealer install a new battery in the key of my wife's 2013 GT. Everything was fine until recently. The car would give a message that it did not recognized the key. If I pressed the lock and unlock button on the key then it worked. and recognized te key. Now suddenly not even pressing te button is working. It just says key not found.

Hello LaLaw,
How often is the vehicle driven, what is the charge status of the house battery and the starter battery, if the vehicle has been sitting, batteries could be the cause, also a year and a half may be time for a new key fob battery, depending on use.

Thanks Johnny. The car is driven about once or twice a week. If we are away more than 1 week it put it on the charger. Does it give a warning about low battery or does it just disconnect like it has?

Are you referring to the House Battery or the key battery? The key in my 2005 warns me with a "Low Key Battery" message. It is important to replace the batteries in BOTH keys when you change them. Low car batteries will generally put a red battery light alert on your speedometer screen.

Thanks. Its the car key. I think they only replaced 1 battery so that may be the problem. Any good videos out there to show me how to replace the batteries?

Bentley key low battery

Hi. So I’ve just purchased a used 2010 Bentley continental gt. When I got the car the remote worked fine to open doors and use the push start. About 1 week the key stopped working so I changed the battery. After changing the battery the car still said key fob battery low. I then bought another set of batteries of a different brand and the car still says key fob battery low. Does anyone know what might be causing this or how to fix it ?

Try putting the key in the ignition and then pressing the buttons on the key.

If I replace a key fob battery before the warning, would I have to replace the other key batteries at the same time?
Possibly you have to replace the others at the same time if you get the dash warning so that it will reset?

Doesn't sound right. I think the car just detects a low battery condition in whatever key fob is within range and displays a low battery condition warning. I've replaced different fob batteries at diff times with no issue.
