Engine rear main seal replacement
Engine rear main seal replacement
Is it any more difficult to do than other AWD vehicles when pulling the trans/t-case? Can everything on the required components be unplugged without messing up any programming? Any words of wisdom from someone that has done this before I dive in?
In the case of the 958 V8 - the replacement of the rear-main-seal calls for engine/transmission/TC removal - all for a $33 seal.
As far as I can tell - the same is true for your 955/V8. Illustrations show many bolts holding them together - that would only be accessible with the assembly removed from the vehicle.

Wonderful. Solid engineering at it's best. These really become throw away vehicles as they age unless you can tackle anything yourself. Thanks for the info

Please tell more.. I'm facing this on my '11 Turbo.. it's dribbling out the weep hole for the torque-converter housing. Looks like engine oil.

Hhhmmm, don't think I've done an 11' ... It's a different drivetrain, but should be same idea. Wish I had more for ya!
