Passenger side mirror

Anyone know more about fixing mirrors?
I recently noticed that when I adjust the passenger side mirror, I can adjust it to pan the mirror to the outside of car (towards right side), but I cannot adjust it back if I over adjust. To me it means that there is a motor in there that is not working anymore.
When I scan the car with my PIWIS2, it also says that about the passenger door (mirror issue).

Here are my questions:
1. How many motors are in a mirror for adjustments? Is it 4?
2. Can each motor be replaced separately? Or do they get purchased as a set on some assembly?
3. What else can it be? I reset the battery, over time no change, now it seems not to be adjusting well at all on passenger side. I assume it is motor(s).

Would be great to know what to fix before I get into it.
Thank you for help.

rgfinnegan3 is infamous around these parts
Sorry, I have no help to offer; but I'd sure like to know how you ended up fixing it, so that I have something to refer to later on... when mine gives out.

Ciaka,

You are the BEST DIY, buddy. Thank you for your contribution. I have a question for you. When I put a R in the morning while I have my foot on the brake, I feel the car moving. Is it something to do with the transmission support block? my 2014 pan4 is 64K miles.

Many Thanks

Just to make sure I understand, you start the car in the morning, put it into reverse (R), and you feel the car move....do you mean the car physically move backwards or forwards, or do you mean the car is vibrating.

If you are talking about the car vibrating while in gear, started but standing still, my bets are it is your engine mounts that are in need or replacement. The transmission support mount can make some difference, but from my experience, if your engine mounts are old, your car shakes a whole lot more. When I replaced my trans mount, it made some difference but not a huge difference. The engine mounts replacement costs approximately 1500 from what I heard. Hope this helps.

Thank you, Ciaka. I start the car in the morning, put it into reverse (R), my foot on brake and I feel the car move backward. I will check to see the car vibrating while in gear with firm brake. I test it again tomorrow when I go work out and report back more details.
Many Thanks.

Hmmm, so you start it, go into reverse while foot on brake and car moves backwards.
I assume car moves only a little, or you would be bumping into all sorts of stuff.
As soon as you put car into reverse, the transmission drive is engaged, and the only thing keeping your car from moving is your brake. Thus makes me ask what condition your brakes are in. How many miles on the rotors and pads?
try to start and press brake very firmly, then put into reverse.
your description makes me think brakes not keeping car in place, so either worn or you are not pressing hard on pedal.

Ciaka,
Thank you again for staying up late to chat. The front and rear brake pads are 25K 2nd replacement without replace rotors. I will press the brake firmly and put into R tomorrow morning. I will report back.

OK, I don't see any issues after I press the brake firmly and put gear into R.
Many Thanks.

Good to hear. You next step should be to get digital caliper, and measure thickness of rotors, front and back, then compare against spec.
then inspect brake pads, to see how much wear they have now. This will tell you how far you have from needing to replace pads and/or rotors. Thanks for update.
