Lap Times Thread
#226
Trust me when I say we are all in the same boat. Even race teams feel most times like they can get more out of the car. We had 3 days on track at VIR and I still felt I needed more time to pick up the track and try new things. If I had put even a decently consistent lap together I would have run a 2:05. But I couldnt get an oak tree, keyhole, rollercoaster combo on one lap for anything.
Some new tires, instead of the old ones I was running and I hope to go much faster next time. The good thing is watching the seconds lop off in lumps initially when you improve.
But for a relative noob, you are doing well for yourself.

VIR is complex, but one track that gets better with time. I know of several guys running street GT3s (with Motons) turning sub-2:05s and even some 2:03s on full slicks and these are DE drivers, not racers... Suspension setup for that track and the right tires are the key... I've never run Hoosiers on my 996TT, but would expect to drop a couple seconds running them there...
Atomic, Hope to run with you there next year!

PLEASE STATE TIMING METHOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RULES:
- Time must be actually timed, no guesses or estimates.
- Driver must be an active member of 6speedonline (100 posts or 1year + 50 posts)
- Must be willing to supply data if applicable and the time is questioned BY ANYONE (for data times only)
- Times may be questioned by any active member. So save your data. (you go to the black list otherwise)
- Driver must submit their own time.
- All makes and models allowed.

Eclou, is he a member here already? I'd love to add his time but I tried to make the rules so that we didnt have "reported" times. I dont mind including rennlisters, but lets at least make sure he wants it added.
Hopefully this list will grow exponentially, but I'm just trying to keep it structured so integrity is maintained and it doesnt turn into a madhouse.

OK. I'll put mine on here. 2:12.3 at VIR full. Toyo R888s. 3.8L 997S with Supercharger. Motons. Big Brembos. 3350lbs (subwoofers and all). Verified through video and Traqmate. Will throw video link up here soon, cause... why not, right? It'd be cool to see everyones that has it. The more of those the better. I haven't figured out how to integrate the Traqmate with the ChaseCam on one video, but I'm working on it.
The car and I have a few seconds left in us. When I looked at the video, I am braking waaaaaaay early... like, out there where there aren't any numbers on the front straight. I left a lot there, as well as some other places. This was my first time on the track with my new configuration, it was lightly snowing, and I thought I had two more days to get a good time but I had a small issue that kept me from running the other two days. I'm going back this weekend. Looking to trim 3-4 off. Will repost in a week with better times.
