iPad Mini in-dash install [996 MkII]
I'm just finish up my install, can the guys with jailbroken iPads let me know your exact settings in activator, I'm having issues with shutting down and it powering back on with just the apple logo then shuts off. Could be an issue with the iPad itself and the jailbreak.

I have mine set up with the Pioneer to:
- Lock Screen->Power Connected->Launch Waze (my default app) [Effectively, turn on car & radio, bring up navigation screen]
- Lock Screen -> Short press home button ->Unlock device [So I can manually turn on the iPad without the unlock swipe]
- Anywhere->Power Disconnected->Lock screen. [Effectively, turn off car & radio, turn off ipad]
Additionaly, as I can't easily get to the top button, i have
- Anywhere->Long Press of Home button -> Lock Screen [I use this after I manually turn on the iPad with the car off by pressing the home button]
- At Lock Screen -> Triple press of home button -> Power down device [Allows for complete reboot if needed]
I also use SBSettings to allow adjustment of the volume control, and Apple's assistive touch to get to anything I might have forgot about.
If your ipad is powering up, getting to the apple logo, then crashing, maybe start deactivating things until you find out what app is making it crash. Unfortunately doing a 'clean' load of a jailbreakable IOS is now impossible, so you have to unravel the problem rather than wiping it clean and starting over. You might google for instructions on how to locate the IOS crash logs and see if there is any useful info in them.

And for those that don't follow these things, still no availability of a legitimate IOS7 untethered jailbreak... Plus rumors that IOS 7.1 is already closing exploits that they were attempting to use for a IOS 7 jailbreak.
Perfect that worked, I found one setting had a respring in it. Some more testing needed, I'm positive I shut her down last night, came out this evening and battery was drained. Will test again tonight, adding the extension cable that came with pioneer is perfect if you need to recharge Ipad overnight manually with an AC plug.
can't wait to pick up my 996 turbo and start with this install! I'm about a week away! thanks for the write up. I have the mini installed in my 350z since its launch date but this looks much much cleaner IMO
Finally Jailbroken
After reading your very 1st post long ago my iPad is now jailbroken on iOS7 and I now have added the Activator app to make the iPad launch in Music and turnoff with removal of ignition key!
Just wish I never updated the PodCarHD, ugh its so ugly now. Hoping for a dash ap alternative soon.

Looks like a real IOS7 jailbreak was released earlier today by evasi0n...

Though there is still some controversy surrounding this release... I don't know how much of it is true, but there are stories about a Chinese company (http://www.taig.com/) 'sponsoring' evasion with $1M to include their cydia alternative, possibly with some other hooks as well.
If you have a working 6.x jailbreak, I'd hold off a bit longer till the dust settles on this one.
